  1. Congrats! Come on over to our Summer Surgery Buddies Group thread on here!!
  2. I’m going to have hubby stay with me the first day but after that I told him he has to go back to work or he’ll just be in my way and on my nerves. Lol
  3. My surgeon’s instructions say to stop them 7 days prior to surgery. But it’s always good to know what your surgeon says.
  4. Welcome aboard! I’m Aug 13 but getting the sleeve.
  5. This has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Just wanted to complain. I’m falling asleep at my desk. No work is getting done. It’s taking all the energy I have to type this post. Blah.
  6. Because they can. All insurance companies have different contracted rates so medical facilities charge whatever they want to maximize the amount they actually receive. It’s inflated pricing which is why people can afford self pay because those costs are not inflated. My sleeve will cost me only $11,800. But it would be billed as three times that if I was using insurance.
  7. My surgeon said I didn’t need to lose any weight before surgery. His rationale was that if I could successfully lose weight then I wouldn’t be considering surgery in the first place so he feels all the added pressure and stress caused by dieting isn’t a productive use of time. He just told me to start practicing for the post-op way of life.
  8. Lol - I do like pretty.
  9. Thanks for all the info!!
  10. Welcome to the group!
  11. lol - I'm already following you!
  12. @aery - Thanks for the info. I'm strongly considering it. I think my Blaze is water resistant, but not really waterproof. That's a good selling feature for me as I'll be getting back into Obstacle Course Racing and there will be plenty of water and mud in my future! How durable do you think it is?
  13. Holding true to my commitment of eating better upon my return from vacation. I'm sitting here snacking on a tomato instead of my usual afternoon chocolate donuts! Speaking of food... I'm still committed to not telling anyone about my surgery, but I do have a change at work I have to manage. Right now I sit in an office and in a completely different building that all the people that I work with on a daily basis. In the next month or two we'll all be consolidated and I'll not only be sitting with my peers, but will also have to move to a cubicle. So, I can no longer hide what I'm eating behind a door. Not that anyone will really be watching what I eat post-op, but it just makes me self conscious about it and maybe a little harder to hide my surgery.
  14. @ChellNC - Welcome to the group! @KatallacStrong - Hey lady! Welcome to our group!! I've added you both to our member list. MEMBER LIST: www.tinyurl.com/summerwls
  15. Dang, I knew that and missed getting it on the sheet. You’re updated now. :)
  16. What specifically do you love? I’m trying to figure out if the added features are really worth the additional cost. From what I can tell a lot of what it does I can already do with my Blaze but there is some new functionality.
  17. I'm looking for more people to follow. If you've got your journey out there, let me know your username so I can follow you. I've just reset my profile to reflect my journey so if anyone wants to follow me, I'm @i.am.emilym
  18. Well, this is where I'm at. Counting down the days to the pre-op diet and starting to make my shopping list of protein drinks. Yippee (sarcasm included).
  19. Welcome back! I updated your date on the member list.
  20. I bought the charge 2 but I’m wishing I had bought the Versa so that way I wouldn’t have needed another device for music ??‍♀️ Yeah, the music in the device is a nice feature. I can control my music with my Blaze, but still have to carry my phone with me.
  21. In the challenges section you do small challenges with up to 10 friends, but the Adventure Race challenges allows up to 30 friends. I don't think there is a way to create an actual group as those are only created by FitBit (at least from what I've seen).
  22. While we're on the topic - does anyone have the FitBit Versa yet? I'm considering getting it, but just wondering how it really compares to my Blaze.
