  1. Yeah, just around the corner! Welcome to the group! I hope you're going to use the weekend to focus on you.
  2. You have a 3 week pre-op??? UGH. Hang in there!!!
  3. You know how tv episodes always have funny titles? "On tonight's episode of Summer Surgery Buddies...jello balls and surgery dates."
  4. Since I grew up in the midwest I believe in Indian Summer. And now in Colorado it's just damn hot in September. So yeah...September is still Summer!

  8. A continuation of our Summer 2018 Check-In thread... Welcome all Summer 2018 Surgery Post-Op Patients! As we make our way into the Post-Op zone, let’s carry on the conversation and support. Everyone is welcome, if you had surgery in the summer of 2018 jump right in! The Ponies applaud your Post-Op Arrival!
  9. @Chrisb428 - Look for the magnifying glass at the bottom of the app - that’s your search function. After clicking that enter your search term in the box at the top of the page. You can search for people, keywords, or hashtags. Under the search box you’ll see additional filters for your search. As an example, say you are searching for the term gastric sleeve. Once those results appear you can view just people who have that term in their name or the hashtags associated with that term. I’ve been using IG for a long time - check out my page and pics and you’ll get a feel for what you can do. I'm @i.am.emily.m
  10. Very good perspective. There is not such thing as losing “only” a certain amount of weight. A loss is a loss and it’s better than where you came from.
  11. Awesome!! Congrats on your loss!
  12. Awesome!!! I have a fancy goal dress in mind. I told my husband, I don’t care if all I do is wear it to Target. I WILL wear it!!!
  13. You look great! Even with the minor issues you’re facing now I’m sure they pale in comparison to the life threatening obesity issues many of us could face if we didn’t have surgery! Great job on the weight loss.
  14. I am self pay for a U.S. procedure. Part of my cost will be financed through Care Credit. I don’t remember my interest rate off hand but I don’t think it’s awful. Physicians have to have an account with Care Credit to accept that form of payment. I was fortunate that the surgeon I chose did not have an account with care credit but when I told him that’s how I needed to pay he was willing to set up an account for his practice so I could use that option. It’s definitely worth asking about. But it’s important to note for my case that only my surgeon accepts Care Credit for his fees. The hospital does not do financing of any kind for their fees and everything must be paid for prior to surgery. So definitely do your research on the costs and how they are able to be paid.
  15. Yay! Glad everything went well for you!!
  16. This sounds good but it really needs a different name. Lol
  17. Welcome to the group! I think we’re all here for similar reasons. For a long time I never considered weight-loss surgery and option because I didn’t have any of the typical comorbidities. But I was truly in denial because all the health issues that I do have, while not the mainstream ones, are caused by my weight. It took a two day hospital stay for me to realize that. So, glad you are here. We’re all in this together!@
  18. I may be able to sneak a few popsicles as I can have low calories liquids but its primarily just 5 protein shakes.
  19. Nope - nothing but shakes. Bleach!
  20. Question for the group: Now that we are chugging through Summer and members are beginning to have their surgeries, what do you think about having a separate thread dedicated to post-op discussions? I don't want to lose the momentum of this thread, but it is getting somewhat bulky with the number of introductions of people checking in. I think it would be nice to have a clean thread for the post-op support we'll want. Thoughts? Love it? Hate it?
  21. Glad to hear you're doing well! My pre-op diet is protein shakes only. Pretty much dreading that!
  22. I'll follow you. I don't have any friends of family on my account since I've always used it for weight loss. Before I switched it over to my surgery info I went through and kicked anyone out that was remotely familiar with me in the real world. lol
  23. Sorry to hear you had to push it back! I've updated your date.
