  2. Hi Rachel, I was on Metformin when I was first banded also. My family doctor changed it to a liquid Metformin which is called Riomet. It was soooo much easier and if you keep it in the refrigerator, it helps with the taste. I'm blessed to say I've been off medication for 18 months due to the weight loss. I was at 224 lost down to 164 but had a total unfill and gained 30 lbs! So getting myself back on track so I don't have to go back on medicine. We CAN do this!
