    Agree with all of this.
It was critical to me to find a surgeon who specializes in post WL patients. If you want a starting point, then check out my ps thread, or pm me.
I agree that RealSelf is a great resources. Just keep an eye out for fake reviews, I.e. posters w one post, no details, and generic praise. If you go through a major surgery like a lower body lift, you’d think you’d have more than 3 sentences to say about it, right?
Once I narrowed down my surgeon I STUDIED their galleries. There were respected surgeons I ruled out because I didn’t care for the aesthetics of their “afters”
Get as many consultations that you need to feel comfortable with your pick. I started with (respected) surgeons who didn’t charge a consultation fee. I happened to find my choice among these. But if I wasn’t satisfied with any of those surgeons I would have had as many consults as I needed to feel comfortable with my choice.

I am almost 5 mos post op. I went on a 7 day cruise on Feb 3rd and bought the drink package. I tried wine and all kinds of mixed drinks and NEVER even got a buzz. Anyone else have this happen? I have never been a big drinker but was really hoping to enjoy the drinks on the cruise since I couldn't enjoy the food.

You look awesome. Both of you do. I haven't taken any pics yet but I will soon. Had my surgery on October 16th and have lost 89 lbs so far. Love that everyone at work calls me skinny now. I'm looking into surgery for arms and tummy but am very happy with results so far.

Welcome Kris. It will get easier. Just take it one day at a time. I'm 5 mos post op and social media still sucks with food pics. I still want to eat but thankfully my body doesn't allow it. I'm still learning what foods my body will tolerate. It's great you have a fiance that is being supportive. You will be skinny with him soon enough. No need for him to hide eating though. You have to get used to everyone else eating things you can't. Like the pizza and soda my family had without me tonight. The fat chick in me wanted to eat it but the fact that I don't want to be the "fat chick" anymore helps me make better choices. The craving are always gonna be there some days more than others. Everyday gets a little better especially when you can actually chew on something that crunches.
YOU GOT THIS GIRL!!!! Other than walking as much as possible I would stay away from any real exercise for a few months. Give your body time to heal. You are not eating any real calories so there is none to burn. Summer is around the corner. Try swimming or walking in a pool for the resistance.
Try a stool softener every 3 or 4 days if needed. Try to get in as much water as possible to help also. Others have tried miralax or MOM.
Good luck on this life changing journey.

I’m 18 weeks post bypass. For the first time in more years than I can remember- I am in onederland! I feel so much better now. More energy, easier to exercise, not as self conscious. I am thankful for this opportunity to lead a healthier life.

Ok so I know a lot of you don't weigh yourselves more then once a week. I usually weight myself about 3 times a week. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I am actually losing weight ☺️ So I weighed myself on Friday I weighed the same as I had 2 days before 201... Today I got on the scale just knowing I must of gained after having stuff I should not of had at a party last night. Hey it is the season to celebrate. To my astonishment the scale read 197 whoooohooooo. I have not seen anything under 200 in years.
I did a happy dance in the bathroom. I am so happy I took this journey. I'm getting my life back.
