  1. Whoops! Forgot to add stats: Left: Starting weight 327 Right: current weight 252 I’m 5’8
  2. I am three months (and some change) out from VSG (very super great) surgery and and down 75 pounds from when I started my pre-op nutrition counseling (55 since surgery on 7/23/18). I have had no complications and absolutely love saving money and anxiety and fretting over whether or not my dinner will be “enough.” I can’t believe how many decisions I let food make for me. I loved you, binge eating, but thank u, next! Here’s the progress so far!
  3. YEP YEP YEP. News flash everyone: I have always been smart, kind, hard-working, hilarious, and even, yes this is hard to believe, attractive. This is about my joints and my health and managing an addiction. But fuck, I’m glad to know that you all thought I was so hopeless before this.... (grad degree, college professor, mother of two, homeowner, award winning writer—but FAT???? Pearl clutching.)
  4. I was discharged today and am feeling great. Sipping water and Powerade zero like I’m getting paid for it!
  5. Hurray for one week of preop diet done! Today is my first day of preop diet and I'm getting really cocky because I have a big supply of fancy Whole Foods bone broth and jello--I hope I'm feeling good in a week! My surgery is July 23rd! I'll be rooting for you!
  6. Just got my surgery date! July 23! Any buddies out there?
  7. Adele. All the time. My students, cashiers, strangers. I say thank you! She's a doll!
  8. There are so many things to have anxiety about! ::adds to list:::
