  1. Had my surgery Wednesday! Everything went great!
  2. I love the idea of an accountability partner!!
  3. Thank you so much for your post! I am having surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30. I can’t believe it’s already here! A little nervous but your update gives me hope!!
  4. It’s great! At least I like it. Plus It’s the best option to get the protein in during the clear liquid phase. I have been using them as a snack during my pre op and it has helped keep me going!
  5. Have you tried protein water? I found Premier protein water at Sams. It has 20 grams of protein in it!
  6. Wow that’s awesome! Congrats. My surgery is Tuesday.
  7. I like your positivity! Everything went so quickly for me! I saw the doctor on a Wednesday and said let’s do it! Saw the dietitian the next day and she told me to start the pre op diet!! The rest of that day and Friday I ate whatever I could and officially started my pre op that Saturday. 11 days days later is surgery which will be this Tuesday 1/16. Lots of other tests between all that. I am ready though. I like your idea of quality over quantity. I will no longer say “I hate fancy places. They never give you enough food!”
  8. Definitely keeping that in mind which is what has stopped me from cheating so far. I am determined to do this just wish there was a way to get rid of the cravings!!! I have great friends willing to yell at me if I feel like cheating lol.
  9. I know and That’s what has kept me going. I talked to a friend who recently had the bypass and she said her taste buds are completely different. She doesn’t like any of the foods she used to. I’m hoping the same thing happens to me because I would love to not crave junk food. On the other hand, I will miss the enjoyment I get out of eating pizza.
  10. 1/16 here too! I am finding the urge to have one last meal harder and harder to ignore!! Still going strong but I just want one more amazing meal. Anyone else feel this way?!
  11. I have never had a colonoscopy before but I will look into it. Thanks for the advice
  12. Decided to give up caffeine during my pre op diet because I really don’t want to go through withdrawals after surgery. I cannot imagine how tough that was to go through. I’m 3 days sober!
  13. You are almost there! I’m having surgery on Tuesday so I still have a a little ways to go.
  14. I have Baritastic. I haven’t used it yet but it has options to set reminders.
  15. Awesome! I can’t believe it’s only a week away! Are you ready?!
  16. I looked into Mexico and felt comfortable going there however the savings was not going to be enough for me to take the risk and added stress. I’m sure it will go great. I am surprised you are going back to work so soon! I plan to take two weeks off but I’m sure I’ll be working from home a bit
  17. Wow that is so awesome! I do have a couple people I know who just recently had surgery. Just saw one of them eating French fries and thought to myself that CANNOT be me post surgery!!! Thanks for the Gas X tip. I will be sure to get some. I have heard a lot of people experience gas pains afterwards. I am doing this as an outpatient procedure so as soon as I start walking around they are going to send me home. I am so glad I don’t have to stay in the hospital but I am also nervous. Luckily I have a friend who is a nurse and she is going to take care of me!!
  18. Broth is definitely helpful! That’s what I had for dessert lol. Are you excited? Nervous?
  19. Hi Lindsay! Do you still have this group. For some reason the link is not working for me.
  20. I’m the 16th and would love a buddy too! Are you getting excited? How is your pre op diet going so far?
  21. Just came across your comment and wanted to say good luck tomorrow!!!
  22. I’m set for January 16th! I am so excited. The pre op diet is pretty tough but I’m staying positive.
  23. That sounds like a very strict diet. My pre op diet consists of two protein shakes and one small meal of non starchy veggies and a protein source. I’m on day two and I’m so hungry! How are you doing So far?!
  24. That all sounds delicious! What all can you eat for your pre op? Try to keep yourself busy. Instead of watching tv I am going to try reading a book. That way my hands are busy. Hopefully this week will go by really quickly!
  25. That is a huge win for you!! Pizza is my weakness so I can imagine how hard that was. Today was ok because I was very busy with clients. I feel like tomorrow is going to be much harder. Going to the movies with a group of friends. Most of them know what is going on so it should be ok but not having a snack at the theater is going to be hard! I’m packing a couple of sugar free jellos! I bought a journal today so that I can track how I’m feeling and what I eat. A friend of mine is coming over tomorrow to pick up all my food so it’s not here tempting me. Next goal is to stock up on protein water and broth for the first week. I already stocked up on protein shakes. Do you have to have special bariatric shakes or can you choose what to drink? The first doc I went to had special ones I would have to buy from his office but the doc I decided to go with allows me to choose as long as it meets the macro requirements.
