  14. I wish I had some life changing advice for you ♡ What youre going through sounds very difficult and isolating. I think any massive change has the potential to be catastrophic for people. The surgery affects hormones massively, this is something my surgeon talked to me at length about. Also, if you're on hormonal birth control that may be in play as well. Give yourself a moment to think about your worth- you are worthy, which is why you had the surgery in the first place! You're dealing with a whole lot and can't go back in time and change a thing. Take a deep breath and think about what you can do in this moment to help yourself. One thing at a time. Best wishes ♡ Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

  16. I met with my surgeon yesterday and his expectation for me was less than I had anticipated. I am 5'4" and 239. He said 18 months out he would like to see me at 160 and that was his first goal. I guess I anticipated a short term or more attainable goal like 200 at some point, and that 18-24 months put I would be closer to goal of 140. Is this just relative based on how much effort I put in? I'm super motivated, and was very fit and athletic before weight gain from thyroid cancer/issues/thyroid removal. How did you guys formulate goals? This is so different for everyone, where do we begin? Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

  18. I just joined this forum last night, and was enrolled in my bariatric program today. All appointments are set for the next few weeks, I have no waiting period or anything crazy from insurance like I thought I would. I'm set for surgery sometime the week of the 22nd. I can't believe it all progressed so quickly. I have been researching for a year and it is all so serendipitous! I look forwarding to getting to know a few of you and going through this. I've only told my husband- It's exciting to tell others here! Congratulations everyone!
