  3. Hi miss I have had those problems for years even before I gained all this weight, mine is disc and nerve related. depending on how in depth the nerve or disc problem is, if that is your case, it may or may not get better with weight loss... If you want to know for sure you can ask your physician to order you a lower lumbar mri, if there are any herniated discs or impinchments it should show. Not much you can really do for it if that is the case, these are the steps a neurosurgeon will put you through, therapy, shots, steroids, if none of that works, surgery, this is what all i went through, i had the same problem on my right side, the surgery did help but it is a rough surgery and requires and good period of healing after, best to lose weight before taking this step, the extra weight on me made the recovery real hard. I pray for your success and pain healing  Lisa
  4. yeah the pain after the surgery was more than I expected as well, if i had known i would have been more prepared mentally for it.... The gas pains were really bad in my chest and left side, breathing deeply, walking when I could and doing little coughs has helped that, I think I got it all out now... I am having very little pain today just a little around the port area when i stand or sit, I am doing fine on the slim fasts (low carb diet ones) they keep me full and no other desire to eat or snack on anything, I weighed this morning and it was 230! I am just amazed this is the first time in years I have been below 245 lbs I think if you can get a few slim fasts in a day that is plenty of Protein, like 60g and with Vitamins and Calcium supplements we should all be great! Seems like we are missing something cause we dont eat as much as we used to lol I know, but I am really starting to love that I did this for myself...
  5. Hi All, I was banded on 4/17/08, I had a rough 4 days after the surgery but I am slowly starting to feel better. My daily meals are two slim fasts or a slim fast and cup of Soup, all I can eat so far. I started out at around 245 lbs and just weighed myself today and I am at 232.2! I will be so glad when all the pain from the surgery is gone and I can live a normal life again, I pray success for everyone new and old doing this program.:blushing:
  6. I started the process in 11/07, finally last week, I finished everything and insurance approved it! I start my liquid diet on 4/12 and my surgery is on 4/17. It is being done by DR Snow, I CANT WAIT! My current weight is 245 My goal weight is 135 I look forward to everything! Lisa
