  1. Omg guys I just set my surgery date for Jan 11th. I’m sooooo excited. Any post-op/pre-op advice or suggestions?!
  2. I called yesterday and was told my approval letter had just been sent out. Finally!!!! I can’t wait to set my date!
  3. Ugh I’m so jealous. Mines was submitted 11/29/17 and I still haven’t heard anything[emoji17]. Did you receive a letter on the 5th or the surgeons office called you?
  4. What!!!! That is amazing. Congrats on your weight loss and new life!
  5. I’m actually in Georgia. The insurance is through my fathers job. This is my last year on my parents insurance so I’m going out with a bang lol.
  6. It’s been 13 longgggg days lol. I’ll just have to be patient I guess lol thanks for your reply!!!
  7. Smh I called BCBS and they said they received my paperwork Nov 29 and that it’s in review. I just pray I get approved!
  8. You are so right. I didn’t even think about that!!! I really wanted to be approved and set my surgery date for the end of this month so I wouldn’t have to take so many days off. Thanks for your reply!
  9. For those that have BCBS IL, how long did it take for you to be approved for surgery? My paperwork was submitted about 2 weeks ago and I’m so anxious lol. I know they have up to 30 days, just wondering how long it took for others.
  10. Yea the wait is the part that sucks but I️ do feel like it’s sets the patient up for success. Congrats on your weight loss and new life!!!
  11. I️ definitely understand that. It’s like if I️ could lose weight on my own I️ wouldn’t be trying to have the surgery lol
  12. Thanks so much for responding!!! I️ don’t even think the insurance coordinator called BC because just like you mentioned, most of BCBS requires it. It’s always good to do your own research!
  13. I️ just reposted your reply on accident lol but thanks so much. You’re right it’s all for the patients benefit but I’m so impatient[emoji31] lol
  14. I️ totally feel your pain. I️ was just told the same thing BUT I️ called my insurance and found the policy for bariatric surgery and there is nothing that specifies 6 months. So maybe you should call your insurance just to confirm! Don’t give up cause if you don’t do it now, 6 months later you’ll be in the same situation wishing you stayed the course! Good luck!

  16. Hey guys!!! I️ recently met with my surgeon for a consultation. I️ was told that my insurance required a 6 month supervised diet. From the policy I️ read, I️ saw NOTHING that specified 6 months. Does anyone have BCBS IL, if so what was your experience?
