  1. ok i'm not sure if I am doing this right. I'm kind of computer illiterate so let me know if I have to do this different. danyel723........209.........183.........150.........33
  2. I had my surgery April 30th I had that pain for about 1 1/2 months and I still get it when I eat the wrong thing or drink too fast or not chew. It has been 3 months since my surgery and I still get it all the time. I was told that it is from working so close to the diaphram. Good luck to you I hope yours goes away. Did they fix a hiatel hernia while they were in there? I heard that can be a cause also. Danielle
  3. I have had severe shoulder pain since my surgery on 4.30.08. I seem to have it all the time though, when I wake up in the morning, if I eat something that my band doesn't like, when I drink water ect.... I have just come to realize that this is something that I have to deal with for a while. But I am glad that it is not something that is terribly wrong with me, cause I was thinking that is was. I did talk to my doctor and he said that it would eventually go away, but he said that it was cause they work so close the diaphram that that cause the shoulder pain. Please let me know if anyone elses has gone away so that I feel like there may be hope for me.
  4. I had the same thing the day of my first fill. It was like a sharp burning pain. Mine went away the day after so I wasn't that concerned. I maybe thought some of the muscles may be being pulled from the fill. Let me know if you do talk to your doctor. I kind of hope it doesn't happen every time you get a fill.
  5. Sorry it took me some time to get back...haven't been on in a couple of days. I didn't have any trouble getting phone calls back they said expect about 48 hours to get a return call. Plus there is a couple different #'s to call. I haven't had to call with any complications though so I don't have any answer for that. But I had no problem getting my 6 week follow up right at 6 weeks. I know some people go to 7 or 8 weeks before they can see their doctor for a fill. Good luck in making your decision! danyel
  6. I don't have any books, but you might want to check on amazon they sell used books...it's worth a shot. Have you scheduled a surgery date? Or are you still deciding? Let me know if the amazon thing works. Take care, Danyel
  7. I watched the procedure on youtube. There is a bunch to select from. I watched it a couple of days before I had mine. Let's just say it is very interesting. Good luck!
  8. I don't believe that my band was filled. I am yet to get a fill, I am scheduled for one on the 13th of June. I am now on solid foods but I don't eat as much as I used to and I get full very fast. My doctor told me the day of surgery that this should go nice and easy cause I was skinny....hehe. The first time in my life I was called skinny. I love it. Good luck with everything, let me know how things go danyel
  9. I am doing great! It has been 4 weeks and I have lost 20lbs. I go for my first fill on the 13th of June. I live right downtown Detroit so I am only about a mile from the hospital. I think my bmi was 35 at my consult. I called to set up my consult and got in the next week and the following week I was having my surgery. I am finally on regular food now, but I am still trying to only about 1/2 cup at a time. which I will prob try doing till I get my fill. I am more than happy that I made this decision. I still have some pain in my port area, which I believe is to be expected for a while. Good luck to everyone!! Let me know how things are going.
  10. I was banded on April 30th by Dr.Webber at great lakes weightloss center. I was very pleased with my experience. They do the surgery at Harper in Detroit. The pre-op nurse that I had was a bit much but all of the other nurses were great. Are you in the Detroit area? Good luck with your decision !!
  11. My doctor is Dr. Webber. Where in michigan are you from Terri?
  12. Hi everyone!! We are now 2 weeks post-op and I was just wondering how everyone is doing? Any aches and pains, trouble eating, having a hard time not eating? Well I am excited to hear how everyone is doing. Take care, Danyel
  13. Thank you all for the good wishes. I am 11 days out from surgery and have been feeling great. Still on liquids for a couple more days then I get to have mushie food. So any suggestions would be great. I still have some tenderness in my stomach, but I expected that. I'm going to start walking more, I am a bartender so I already do a lot of walking. I have been feeling like I get full very fast even on liquids but I'm sure there is still some swelling. Can anyone help me get a ticker? I have lost about 13lbs in 2 1/2 weeks so I am very excited and would like to keep track of it. Thanks again everyone for thoughts!!!
