  1. My surgery is finally here at 10:30 tomorrow am. I did really well with the pre op diet and followed it exactly, but I only lost 2lbs. Kind of worrisome that I can’t even lose weight on only protein shakes and a banana.
  2. I have a husband and one pre teen daughter. She’s still on break until Jan 5, and both of them were planning on coming to hospital with me and sticking around until I’m in a room. Hospital already said she was allowed in pre op & post op areas. I just don’t want them to have to stick around all that time when they could be hitting up fun things in the city. Will I want them there pre op? What about post op? Should they just come back to the hospital when I’m settled into a room? My husband keeps insisting they are staying, but I’m like why sit around and be bored for hours on end?
  3. That makes me feel better for sure. Thank you.
  4. Has anyone followed the pre op liquid diet perfectly and not lost any weight? I’m on day 10, have not cheated (given permission to eat 4oz of turkey and 1oz veg at Christmas) and I’ve lost maybe 2 lbs? My weight changes daily +-4lbs. So I cant tell if the 2lbs is a real loss. I’m kind of worried that my suspicions are true that I have some sort of underlying condition that caused me to gain 75lbs in 2 years. I’ve been to every dr, had every test already in those last 2 years and it all comes back fine. I had my final pre op appt today and my surgeon isn’t concerned that I didn’t lose weight. I’m getting the surgery no matter what, but I’d like to ease my mind a little that this liquid diet doesn’t always yield weight loss results for everyone, but I can still have success after surgery. I’m 40 years old, 5’8, and a bmi of 39.
  5. Jan 3rd for me. I’m on my 6th day of liquid diet. Allowed 4 shakes, 2 bars, 1 banana, and up to 3 servings of sugar free jello. For Christmas Day, I was allowed to have 4 oz of turkey (no gravy) and 1oz of green beans if I wanted it. I did eat it, but now my stomach is making a lot of crazy noises! Thankfully I’m not hungry at all on the liquid diet. I don’t think I’ve lost a single pound on it though.
