  1. I think it's natural to be nervous and a little scared. I just had surgery Monday. I never had a surgery before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. They were hooking me up in the or and the next thing, I'm waking up in recovery:) Not bad at all. From now till then, fill your mind with positive things. What you watch to even the music you listen to. Mentally prepare yourself. I'm not sure if you're a religious person, but scripture is one of the best things to fill your mind with. You will do great!
  2. According to my doctor, the sleeve is actually or more complicated surgery and the recovery time is longer. The possibility of leaks is greater in a sleeve then a gastric bypass. Ultimately it's what you feel comfortable with. I know people who have done both. Some have kept the weight off and others have not. It's about what you feel you can maintain.
  3. Yes. Walking everyday. My doctor said 1 mile minimum.
  4. Thank you All! Just finished my 30x around the nursing station(equivalent to a mile). I did 20x last. So ready to go home. Waiting for my doctor to come in.
  5. Yes it does:) Thank you.
  6. Had my surgery at 11 something this morning. Successful. The pain not too bad. No nausea, vomiting or dry heaving, PRAISE GOD! A little hard to breath, but all in all I'm doing well.
  7. Thank you. Showered and heading to the hospital soon...oh boy:)
  8. Hi Everyone! I'm Michelle and I will be getting my surgery in the morning(10/9). I'm excited and yet "Am I really doing this?" at the same time. Best wishes to all of you on your new journeys.
