  1. I have a desk job as well, but I'm planning to take two weeks (my doctor said 2 to 3 weeks). My sister just had her surgery in August and I was asking her about taking off because itially I was only going to take a week off like you are. But she really recommended taking an additional week off. She was telling me that you will be really drained and probably be very tired. And if you are still on pain meds it's not recommended to drive. So I started completing my FMLA paperwork as well. I'm going to take a week and the other week will be disability. But I just wanted to give you a little heads up since my sister has been through this so recently, she has been a great resource for me. Best of luck to you!
  2. Good Morning All, I'm about a month away from my surgery! Now, I'm a planner so I like to have things ready to go and I understand this is going to be a take it one day at a time sorta thing because my body may or may not like certain things after surgery. But I have a fairly busy life; young kids, full time job, etc. Well I have the next couple weekends off and I'd like to make my life a little bit easier for when I return to work after surgery. I'll probably still be in a mushy food stage when I return to work and wanted to make some soups/other foods ahead of time and freeze them, but I'm not sure if it will be worth it. Just wanted to get some thoughts of those who have been through this stage. Thanks!
  3. My turning part definitely has to be my sister. I had been researching options for a couple years now. Especially after the birth of my daughter. Being morbidly obese and pregnant felt very wrong for me. I ended up feeling very selfish for wanting another child after putting on so much weight after the birth of my son. But my little sister took the dive and told me she began the process. I was really researching at that point and she was the breaking point for me. But I hate feeling so uncomfortable all the time. I hate summer because I feel like I sweat too much. I really would like to get back to a place where exercising feel comfortable. And most importantly, I want to set a good example for my kids. They need to see what a healthy lifestyle is- a balance. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
