  1. I used to be on 250mg of Diamox 2x daily. The side effects were terrible- tingling in hands and feet, and extreeeeeeme fatigue. It was the only thing that helped my headaches though. I suffered through the side effects. I had a swollen optic nerve and the docs were fearful of blindness. I didn't have a choice but to take the meds, I did not want to go blind. Diamox is not an end all. I also have Hashimotos diseas and PCOS which makes losing weight at a snail's pace. I hope you can sort everything out and get approved.
  2. I have pseudotumor cerebri also. My BMI qualified me, but I would suggest having your neurologist write a letter of support so your surgeons office could submit that along with other qualifying documents. Good luck!
  3. Hey!! I hate to hear isopure is gross! Walgreens by me has premier protein for buy one get one 50% off. Reg price $9.99. I don't have to do a pre op diet, but start eater lighter, and 2 days before liquid diet. We will get through this!!
  4. This is exactly how I am feeling! I'm glad I am not alone. I am definitely going to have the surgery, because I know I deserve to be happy and healthy (and look good). It is just getting over these initial feelings. I'm sure we will do great and will be successful, but I know how you feel! Good luck. I'm going in on 11/17!
  5. I'm the day after! And i'm extremely nervous too!
  6. I am also the 17th!!! How exciting!
  7. Thank you!! Yes exciting..It is really happening! Hope you can enjoy his bday!
  8. I have a similar story to yours and can very much relate to what you are saying about higher education. I have my BS degree in Exercise Science and am about to graduate in December with my Master's in Public Health. Here I am at nearly 300lbs and I feel I am discredited or looked over bc "how can someone obese know anything about public health, health prevention, and being healthy" I eat organic, gluten free, and dairy free (most of the time), don't drink soda, love water, making protein shakes, and juicing!! My diagnosis of Hashimoto's disease makes it nearly impossible for me to see quantitative results, which got very discouraging. Then I gained 25 lbs in the last 4 months and saw a full length picture of myself and yikes! Like you said it was the combination of events that led me to my decision. Best of luck to you on your journey!
  9. I got my insurance approval today!!! Surgery date of 11/17/17 is confirmed, all pre-op appointments are done- the only thing left is physician clearance and testing which I can start now because I am less than 30 days away!! Anyone else have surgery on 11/17??
  10. So did mine!!! How exciting.. i'm all set for 11/17/17- Best of luck on your journey! Be sure to keep us updated post- op
  11. I went for my nutrition consult today! Next week Psych Consult! I should hear about insurance acceptance by the middle of October. How exciting and terrifying!!! How is everyone else doing on all of the pre-surgery hoops??
  12. During my seminar I was told to eat light 3 days before and the day before liquid diet only. I was told by my physician overweight (i hate the word obese) individuals have a larger liver and the light meals before surgery allow the liver to shrink slightly so the surgery is smother sailing!
  13. Hi, Which surgeon in NJ?? I'm from NJ too. My surgeon is Dr. Trivedi from Advanced Laproscopic
