  1. Hi All! Thanksgiving was great. Had the meal with the wife and friends. The food was excellent! I had 3 Oz of white turkey and about a spoonful of 3 or 4 vegetables. I even had about one third of a dinner roll. I took leftovers home and recreated my plate on the scale. It came out to about 7 ounces of food total. Calories were a little high at about 350 but it was a holiday dinner! I did avoid the gravy and creamy vegetables. Went back over for desert 3 hours later. Just had a sliver of pumpkin pie with some Cool Whip. Didn't feel bad I wasn't eating and spent as much time with my plate as the others did. I just didn't go back for seconds! I have to live with my weight loss decision and might as well enjoy it!
  2. Just short of my 2 month anniversary. On normal food....which I weigh most days. I have found a boring habit for breakfast and lunch works best. I have cottage cheese with sugar free fruit for breakfast and then a snack mid morning. For lunch I usually have tuna fish on crackers or toasted sugar free diet break. A cheese or other high protein snack mid afternoon. Dinner is often out. I have found about 2/3rd of a hamburger steak or 4 OZ steak, chicken or fish with some steamed vegetables will work. Losing about 2 lbs a week most weeks. Walking a bit, playing golf, and starting some exercise now that my joints are not bothering me. Biggest issue is getting in fluid. I find myself forcing down that last 16 oz of water in the later afternoon. Overall, I feel good and continue to see progress. Hope all of you September folks are doing well!
  3. Hi All, Was just released to all activities and normal food today. Hit a stall at 4 weeks but just kept working the plan. Down 43 pounds in total. I feel good most of the time but do get a little tired after walks. Of course I am in Florida and it was hot until this week. Enjoyed Chic-Fil-A grilled nuggets for lunch today with a little applesauce. Food is not driving me right now. I just work on proteins and 64oz of water every day. Water is tough to get in! Hope everyone is doing well.
  4. Hello all! Will hit the one month mark in a couple of days. Back at work on the road. Was worried about nutrition. Brought a bag of emergency rations with me. Canned tuna snack packs, Slimfast, protein rich dry soup. Have had scrambled eggs at breakfast in hotel, salmon for lunch and canned tuna for dinner in room. Not hungry but having to force myself to drink water. I forget. Bought 2 32oz bottles of water for each day so I get it in. Also trying to walk while traveling but look forward to going to the gym!

    Relief for knee pain

I have bad knees as well. I did everything! I had Supartz injections. I had stem cells (not paid by insurance $5K). I was taking both Tylenol and Ibuprofen. Finally got down to just Tylenol to sleep. I am now down about 35 pounds and haven't had anything since September 11th. Sleeping well. Still some pain in my left knee but I am pushing as much walking as I can tolerate. I know the knees are shot and will require replacement some day but I think I can make it a few years by getting the weight off. I am already off BP meds and statins. At 62 y/o, I should have done this years ago!
  6. Hi All! Completed my first week back to work after 9/18/17 surgery. Got the staples out last Wednesday and all is well. Next visit is 10-27. Since I am working from home, keeping up with the diet has been ok. Added in some cottage cheese with unsweetened peaches which has been my breakfast favorite. Bariatric soup a couple of times a day along with protein shakes has kept my protein up in the 80's. Walking a couple to 3 times a day. I have no great insight....just following the plan and not worrying about anything. Since I am in my 60's, this was a health not a beauty thing. I want to play with my grandkid and enjoy my upcoming retirement. I can tell you I already sleep better and have less joint pain. My first big challenge is in 10 days when I have to travel for work. Managing the diet will be more complex then. Best wishes to all the September sleever's!
  7. Hi All! Seems almost like a normal Sunday. Sleeved on 9/18. One night in the hospital and then home. No exceptional pain. Took two doses in first 2 days then no more issues. Only one dose of nausea meds after having broth and then meds in Vitamin Water. It was no big thing. Slept in a chair two nights. Then back to kind of normal on 3rd night home. Walking twice a day. Seems like I am constantly eating/drinking now that I am in Phase 2. Going back to work next week, I think! Have post op Dr. appointment on Wednesday. Can honestly say hunger hasn't been an issue. Hope all September VSG's do well!
