Do people actually date anymore?
That's been one of the many reasons why I'm still single, I will not settle for anyone who doesn't love me the way I love me. lol Somedays I still struggle with that but it gets easier every day. Thank you for your words! <3

Am I the only one who gets annoyed by the question Why?
Seriously though, any time you venture into the subject of WLS surgery and someone asks you why? I just get annoyed by it at this point. So I tell them I'm morbidly obese which leads to the "why don't you go to the gym, why don't you try this new diet, why would you want to do something so crazy when there are better ways to lose weight it just takes hard work?" Then I tell them about all the fad diet programs I've tried, that I go to the gym 4 times a week 1.5 hour each time alternation on strength training and cardio, which leads to more Why questions. Honestly I'm really tired of the why question, I'm all for educating the people around me but 9/10 times there questioning not because they care or want to know but because they think I'm taking the "easy way out", and that really irritates me. So is anyone else out there sick and tired of explaining themselves?

Don't tempt me
Girl I feel your pain ever since I started this new diet everyone and their brother is coming out of the woodwork like "Steph want a piece of candy, steph want to go grab a slice, steph I couldn't eat all my fries, want the rest?" Please god make it stoppppp!!!!!! lol. I'm terrified of the 9 week diet after surgery and pray that I'm strong enough to get through it when it's my turn. Every time I'm tempted I just remind myself in one short week of eating clean and changing my portions I lost 9 lbs and that pizza/candy/fry is not worth gaining it back.

Getting out of the dreaded Friend Zone
So I have this guy friend who I'm kinda into... I have this notion in my head that after I finish my journey he may decide I'm worth dating at that point. And all though I'm really fond of him and love our conversations, and think he's amazing... but I don't think I would be into dating him after this. I'm probably living in a fantasy world but I'm wondering if any of you had dealt with this and how you handled it. Did you end up together and you're currently living happily ever after or did you tell them to eff off because they were shallow when you were bigger? I do know for sure I'm not interested in anything serious until after my surgery.

Do people actually date anymore?
Haha aint that the truth, I am talking to one guy who seems very interested in talking about my surgery as if he's writing a paper on the subject matter or something, it was super embarrassing because we went out for our first date and he starts asking me about the surgery and what happens if I end up with lose skin. I wasn't used to someone asking so many questions about it beyond the dreaded "why would you do something so drastic when all you need to do is go to the gym" because clearly WLS is the "easy" way out. I'm not worried about finding anything yet, right now I am 100% focused on me.

Do people actually date anymore?
I don't know about the rest of you but we live in a world where finding love means swiping right and hoping for the best. Hello I'm Stephanie, I'm 26 years old. I'm new to the site and would love to make some friends, text buddies, or pen pals. So I'm what you would call Terminally Single, been that way for about 7 years now and I'm not sure it's ever going to change. It feels like the guys I'm into either A. don't want to be with a fat girl. B. are emotionally stunted, C. into weird fetishes (foodie/feeder I know I'm fat but that doesn't get my jollys off.) or D. Crazy, bat **** crazy. Maybe I'm too picky, maybe I'm the crazy one, but I found it interesting to find this type of forum on this site. Color me intrigued!

Hello! 26 year old female in New York looking to make new friends!
Hello everyone! My name is Stephanie and I am in the beginning processes of getting bypass surgery. I'm getting the Roux-en-Y procedure and mainly I'd love to make new friends who are going through the same process as me. No one in my immediate friend or family group get it! None of them understand, truly understand why I want to do this. Sometimes I want to wack them in the forehead and say HELLLOOOO DO YOU NOT SEE HOW BIG I AM? Anyway I'm a social butterfly, I like making new friends, I would be open to meeting people in my area, or even having a pen pal. Hope to hear back from you guys! Thanks.

Top 10 bucket list after weight loss
I LOVE THIS IDEA! Here are my top 10 things! 10. Be able to sit in a booth at a restaurant without needing to push the table out or have my stomach be pressed tightly against it. My best friend always opts for booths and I loathe them due to my weight. 9. ROLLER COASTER! I love them and I hate that I haven't been able to go on one in so long. 8. Going to my 10 year High school reunion holding my head high and have everyone go... woah who is that woman? 7. Do a Marathon. 6. Skydiving. (I'm a thrill Junkie) 5. Get into some abandoned buildings for photography purposes. (Did I mention I'm a thrill junkie?) 4. Being picked up by a handsome buff man lol 3. I want to do those adult go kart things with my friends. I always have to sit out because of the current shape of my body. 2. Doing an escape room. Those look like so much fun but some of them are tight spaces. 1. This is my number one thing that I have to do no matter WHAT! Swim with great white sharks!!!!!!!

My Story: The Journey to Surgery
I've actually heard that from a lot of people so far. I have a few friends at work who are also getting surgery and they opted for the sleeve as well, when I asked them why they said the same thing that the bigger surgery scared them.

My Story: The Journey to Surgery
I feel your pain when it comes to the staring part. It makes me so mad. I opted for it because it has a high weight loss and keeping it off success rate.

My Story: The Journey to Surgery
Hello my name is Stephanie, I mostly go by Steph or Stephers. I am a full time call center representative and a part time photographer in Brockport NY. I weighed the options of getting this surgery for a long time and finally went to a seminar June 19th 2017 which was the start of my journey towards getting the surgery. Since the seminar I ran into a two month lapse in coverage so I was unable to proceed with the process, luckily I got that fixed and I've now gone to the Nutrition Seminar on September 11th and my first appointment with a PA in the office September 19th. During that week after changing my diet to what the Nutritionist suggested I lost 9 lbs. So I'm feeling pretty good about my progress so far. I'm doing this surgery mainly because I have a genetic mutation that makes me highly susceptible to cancer, specifically: breast, cervical, and ovarian. Getting healthy is key to living my life to the absolute fullest and kicking cancers ass back to hell if it hits me. This week has been tough, I gave up coffee, and all junk food and have been very strict about the diet. The biggest issues I'm having are the caffeine and sugar withdrawals, and getting used to only sipping liquids and taking very small bites. I'm not sure why it's so hard for me just to slow down and take little bites when I'm eating, probably because I live a hectic life and taking 30 minutes out of my day to eat one meal doesn't seem to work so well but I am trying and I have noticed progress. Also I lost that nine pounds so that was super exciting. Anyway I'm looking forward to making friends here and reading all of your success stories. Also I'm writing a blog about this experience and I'd love to do some interviews with other patients.
