I had my first fill 2 days ago. Just hurt for the initial needle stick. He injected 2cc then had me drink a cup of water. Everything went fine. I don't really feel any restriction when eating but do seem to feel less hungry. He gave me a prescription for Vit B12 injections. I only got that because I asked for it. He said I didn't really need it but I just wanted to see if there would be a change in my energy.
I didn't give my own blood prior to surgery, but wish I had. Thankfully I didn't need a transfusion but came very close to needing one. The doctor scrapped my spleen with an instrument and therefore I lost a lot of blood. Post-op my blood counts were monitored closely.
Hello jlg1019. I worked at the hospital in Princeton, WV for 25 years. I know the doc that did your surgery. As you stated he is a superb doc. Congrats on your surgery and weight loss.
Glad to meet you all. This has been rougher thus far than I had anticipated. During surgery my spleen was scraped by an instrument but the doctor was able to get the bleeding under control. I am feeling much better today though. Today is my 50th birthday and I am going to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and nature. My appetite is very much under control.:cool2:
Hi, I am Linda from Severna Park, MD. I was banded on 5/16/08 by Dr. Averbach at St. Agnes Hospital. I am one week post op and have lost 10 pounds. :blushing:
