  1. Oh fickled fickled band! Sorry this is happening.
  2. Hi Kegra: Congratulations on taking charge of your health. I love your positive attitude!
  3. Hi Tracy: Welcome to the losers bench. Keep walking and sipping! Good luck
  4. My only advice is to get back with the program. You can do this. This part will be over soon and you will be so proud of yourself.
  5. Hi: I was wondering how things are going for everybody whether you're pre-op or post-op. I hope all is well. I'm so glad the heat wave finally broke.
  6. Hi FNJ: What did you think after the consultation? Which doctor did you see? My approval process was uneventful. I didn't have to do a diet. My BMI is over 40. I have arthritis in both knees which has required both knees to be replaced and the right knee replacement to be revised. I also have high cholesteral. I believe I went to the consultation in October. The delay between the consultation and my surgery date was caused by the time it took me to process the bandster rules and decide if I was prepared to follow them. It took me about five months to work through my issues and feel committed to the new life style. Once I did that, I had the psych evaluation and the very next week the Clinic called me to schedule the surgery. I had my first fill on June 3rd. So far everything is good. Let us know how things are going with you.
  7. My question doesn't raise either your right to post or my right to read your post. You're correct the post did spark an interest/curiousity about what you expect to receive from, and contribute to, a forum dedicated to lap band surgery as opposed to gastric sleeve. Just wondering.
  8. This is the Lapband Forum --i.e, information and support for lapband. Why are you posting about the gastric sleeve? There is a forum dedicated to gastric sleeve on Obesity Help.
  9. blkshadow, sounds like you have a lot of responsibilities but also a lot of love surrounding you. It's great that you can identify all those good traits about yourself. Where you thinner or normal weight as a child, teen, young adult? I was and am terrified of seeing people who knew me then. On the other hand, I don't like meeting new people because of my weight. But, I'm getting better and it's because of the band. I am 48 years old and have every expectation that I will live out the rest of my life without the burden of being overweight.
  10. It's going to be okay. What is wrong with you is that you are depressed. But there is nothing wrong with your character that has caused your situation. At one point in my life I could've written your op. The good news is that you've started some meds that may help. Make an effort to stop looking in the mirror and beating up on yourself. If I did that, I think I would eat even more. Do you mind if ask how old your children are? Do your parents live with you? We're here for you.
  11. Congrats! I love the festive message. I feel encouraged.
  12. Sweetie, of course you're angry and have every right to feel betrayed. Acknowledge those feelings and don't use food to comfort yourself. People cannot keep a secret. I'm not blaming you, but the request for a different lunch added fuel to the gossip fire. Your need for a separate lunch time is not about making other people uncomfortable because you're having a shake. It's about making you comfortable about having a shake while other people are eating food. Do you guys have to eat together? Anything you can do to keep things normal and not bring attention to yourself is a step toward keeping nosy people out of your business. Good luck. Go ahead and cry. You'll get over it and move on.
  13. Hi Ms Trina: You can do this. You are doing this for you and don't let anybody make you more miserable than the pre-op diet already makes it. In other words, don't let people get inside your head. What other people are doing has nothing to do with you. I know it is sooo hard. With this and other things, it is best to just ignore folks around you. Best wishes on the 15th. Let us know how it goes.
  14. Hi Pat: Welcome aboard. Best wishes on your preop diet.
  15. I was also banded on April 9th. Have you tried gas X or some other product? Also some very light stretching and bending helps abdominal gas; but I still have the right shoulder pain. We'll get through this:cool2:
