I am post op. VSG. Self pay. I travel a lot for my job and if I'm not working I don't get paid. I needed to schedule my surgery between jobs. I needed a surgeon that could do as much of the pre op for me as quickly as possible so I could minimize visits since I knew I would be an out of town, if not out of state patient. I started working with one surgeon in NC since I would be ending a job in VA but I live in CA. I had months for them to get me scheduled, including the pre op that they said they would help me with (the "self pay coordinator" bragged about how easy they were to work with and how easy they made it for out of town patients). But they ended up being VERY non responsive as my time limits drew closer. I think I was down to 4 weeks.
I then found Dr. Tersigni. They were great - very east to work with, VERY easy for out of state, very reasonable rate for cash pay, they are very EASY to coordinate with for the pre-op stuff (including the EGD which he does once your under for the surgery!!). It was a great.
It fit my schedule perfectly.
The hospital in Coos Bay is clean and beautiful. The staff was friendly. I am very happy wth my care.
The trip home was terrible... but that was the miserable airlines fault... not my surgeon's! I got bumped from the first class seat I bought so I would be comfortable because my flight was delayed and I ended up on a different flight. Boo. :-(
