  1. Thanks for all of the discussion. Niceguy -- i laughed so hard about your carbs=alcohol=beer belly. That sure explains my reflection in the mirror!!! lol I'm glad to hear that salads aren't out - they are one of my favs. I am obviously not eating as the w of w would have me do, or I wouldn't be in my predicament. However, I just want to make sure that I can use all that food supply when the time comes!!!!
  2. I have a question that I have not seen answered anywhere yet. I have read about Protein, protein, protein, then vegies. Okay, I'm sure you know the question. What about W of W? Grains and fruits? Can any of you eat green salads, I have heard that they are pretty much out of your diet after the band. Any insight into this will be greatly appreciated! Just wondering how it all works!!!!
  3. I am right with you. That old mirror reflection just plain freaks me out. I really can't comprehend that I look that bad. But unlike you I haven't made my surgery appointment yet. I'm looking towards the end of August to the first part of September. This website has sooooo much information, that hopefully we will be fully educated by the time we take the plunge!
  4. thanks for the info about dr. melniczek -- wow he sounds amazing. very personal care. I think that the band sounds like such a great tool. What I really want is just a magical 'poof' and all the excess weight is gone! Since that's not going to happen, I guess the band sound like the next best option for me! This site is so jam packed with such great info, i'm glad i found it. thanks so much for the quick reply!
  5. I am considering the lapband. I started the combipatch a year ago and HAVE GAINED 20 POUNDS since! Anyone out there with the patch and banded? Have you been able to loose weight?
  6. shinyhappymommy, i love your tag line "cookie monster tamed" boy oh boy, mine needs some heavy duty taming! I can't even get it to sit-- Therefore the research on the lapband. I'm a self pay so I'm thinking about Dr. Kirshenbaum in denver -- anyone here use him?
  7. Hi all, I am still in the research phase! Are you happy with your decision to be banded? This is way cool to have an LDS thread...makes me feel at home.
