  1. I’m in Bakersfield. One week out today. I had an RNY on the 13th, after having had a sleeve 5 years ago.
  2. Today is my fourth day post op. This was the first time I felt super sad and alone. I admire you for taking the step to go it alone and do what you need to do for yourself. I hope that you are blessed to find family and friends supportive as you begin to share your decision with them. You are stronger than you know. You've got this. As the highs and lows come, seek opportunities to vent your emotions and be comforted by the supportiveness of others who know where you have been, where you are, and where you are headed!
  3. Congratulations! Hope your surgery goes smoothly. It will be over before you know it!!
  4. Congratulations on making it through the 15 month saga!! Hope your surgery goes smoothly and recovery is quick!!
  5. Ugh. So sorry you had to go through that this week. Hope things are going much smoother by the time Friday rolls around.
  6. Tomorrow is the big day for me. Just got my hospital arrival time...5:15 AM. Glad to be the first of the day so that I don't have too long to be anxious.
  7. Ugh! That is rough. Hang in there!!
  8. I got a call from the surgeon's office yesterday and was told that my surgery had to be rescheduled. I was totally bummed since it moved from 9/6 to 9/13 and I had already started my liquid diet in prep for the 9/6 date. I really had my head wrapped around 9/6. Now I am working on resetting my plans and prep. It isn't the end of the world, just super frustrating.
  9. Six years ago I had a sleeve. On 9/13, I am having a conversion to bypass. My GERD became worse after the sleeve, I have a hiatal hernia that needs to be repaired, and I did not experience the amount or permanency of weight loss that I had hoped for. I wish I had started with bypass.
  10. @zleng, my own surgery is the day after yours. It is scary and thinking about possible complications adds to the anxiety. Remember that the complications are unlikely to occur and that it is much more likely that your surgery will be textbook and go smoothly. Stay positive about it.
  11. Know that you are stronger than you think. Even if those you love are not with you in person they will be thinking of you and wishing you the best. This will be behind you before you know it. Take advantage of the fact that you can focus on yourself for these few days and you will be feeling better and stronger in your recovery when you return home.
  12. I am doing the same. Surgery date is Sept 6. My sleeve healed I correctly and developed a structure halfway down, ballooned up over that point, and caused a hiatal hernia. I'm looking forward to the revision and planning on working hard to make this go around a successful one!
  13. Good luck! I hope your recovery is smooth and speedy!
  14. I'm having a bypass. 9/6 is the date.
  15. I'm scheduled for surgery on 9/6. I'm on a liquid protein diet now. It isn't terrible. I'm surprised I'm not hungrier.
