  1. When I did my pre op 2 years ago it’s was hard the first two days. The thought of not eating makes you hungry lol. But after that it was a breeze and I lost 20lbs with out any form of exercise.i had a very small list of veggies I could eat with 3.5 oz of lean protein a day so I opted for beef jerky and I roasted the veggies with fat free Italian dressing . Those roasted veggies saved my life lol

  9. I'm happy to know I'm not the only one feeling this way. It's just making so scared cause I know I'm not getting the protein I need. I just bought some Greek yogurt and it made me so sick because I've become lactose intolerant. I'm over the craving food part I know how to control that being that I never feel hungry now. I'm just tired of feeling sick.
  10. Thank you so much for your advice and enlightenment I will be looking into those protein options asap. I just don't know how they will work out being lactose intolerant I can't even have yogurt but in will ping to keep trying
  11. Well all I had to do was see a nutritionist once a month for 6 months there was no classes or support group. The nutritionist I seen didn't know much of anything. The program I am in isn't very helpful but the surgeon himself is awesome... his program just needs help
  12. Thank you for the advice I was thinking of seeking therapy since my program doesn't off anything to my knowledge
  13. Thanks for your kind words
  14. Hey guys has anyone experienced buyers regret with their surgeries? I'm 3 weeks post and it's been horrible. I feel so alone I don't know what I'm doing. But my stomach is always bothering me I don't know when I'm hungry my saliva is always foamy I can't drink my protein shakes with it getting sick puréed food is giving me problems. I'm just really losing my mind n I can't stop crying ? Is there anyone else experiencing any of these problems or feelings of regret?
  15. We're surgery buddies I also had my bypass done on 7/27/17 my doctor says it's ok to try soft foods now I tried eggs this morning and I don't think my body is ready so I'll try again next week. My parents are from America my mom is from Oklahoma and my dad is from Florida. I haven't spoke to my dietician yet so I've been going on the knowledge my mother an I already have about food and listening to my body. I know it's going to be a challenge trying to transform soul food into healthy eating cause everything is so rich and fatty
  16. Can you eat any cheese you want ? I love Monterey , cheddar, and provolone.
  17. I'm actually looking forward to beans. I really like refried beans, white bean, and black eyed peas. The only thing is, in my culture we use smoked meats to season the beans. So the white beans and black eyed peas may not be an option. Thank you for sharing ?
  18. According to my doctor I can start soft foods when I hit my two week mark which is this coming Thursday. I'm so excited to taste real food again and to chew lol. What are some of your favorite soft food meals and snacks ?
  19. I'm only a week post and I can't wait for soft foods secifically fish. I use to be a huge meat eater my favorites being wings steak neck bones and oxtails I hope one day I'll be able to eat them in moderation
  20. So far Im on day 7 and my liquids are definitely going down a lot smoother and I can take bigger sips. My premier protein shakes are nothing giving me problems but after I drink one it definitely makes me have to go. My surgeon is saying I can eat soft foods on my 3rd week so I'm looking forward to it cause this liquid phase is getting old lol... thanks for your response and good luck on your journey
  21. Thank you I sure will cause I've been avoiding water now that I think about it I have that problem with almost all the fluids smh I hope this issue resolves its self
  22. I'm 4 days post from my gastric bypass and I'm having the hardest time with fluids. When they released me they said my upper GI test was clear. Now that I'm home when ever I drink water or protein juice/shakes it's leaves me in such discomfort. It feels like I swallowed rocks and they just sit on my chest. They make me feel like I'm so full even though I take the tiniest sips. I also don't know how much fluids I should consume in one day. So far I've been sipping a small amount of broth and the premier juice with protein cause the regular protein shake was so harsh on my stomach I was in tears. I could use all the advice I can get thank you in advance
  23. My doctor just told me to walk walk walk, which does help a tiny bit but I try to lay back but that feeling last for hours before it goes away
  24. I'm 4 days post and when ever I drink water it makes my stomach hurt and I feel like it's a big rock that's stuck like it's just sitting on my chest it's so uncomfortable.
