I'm two month post op this week. I had a lot of trouble the first month keeping anything down. I still vomit up about 50% of anything new I try to eat. I can eat crackers, ice cream, chicken salad and some soups without vomiting.
An example.. Last night I ate a few bites of grilled fish. That's it.. Probably about 1/2" thick and about 1/4 of the size of a deck of cards or maybe the size of a box of matches. So less than an ounce of fish. It felt like it was sitting a bit below my throat and felt like I need to belch but i can't belch/burp because it felt like my path to burp was blocked. Well it kept it down for about 30 minutes all the while feeling uncomfortable .
Finally I went to the bathroom and throw up.. UP came the fish and a bunch of slimy white mucus. I do have a problem with stomach acid and heartburn . (I'm taking Prilosec one a day ) I then belched /burped for about 20 minutes and felt okay again.
This happens with most solid foods that I try to eat and I'm 2 months out so I should be able to eat anything now. I was sleeved in TJ Mexico and I'm going back next week for a follow with the surgeon , Regarding this problem I'm having but want some background information from the forum before I go .
My questions are:
1. Does this sound like a stricture?
2. For anyone that had/has a stricture. Did they test for the stricture on you with Dye and xray ? or Did they Scope you? If they scoped you did they put you fully under with Anastasia or just local?
3. Could this be anything else? Maybe due to stomach acid or GERD?
Thanks
