What does "sticky" mean? I'm new here and haven't done much exploring yet. TIA

Bulimia in the past....
IMHO - if it happend once or twice, don't say anything. But seeing as it was a 5 year battle, I'd talk about it. Eating disorders are serious and I wouldn't lie. But this is just my opinion.

When did you see the nutritionist and psych?
At our Bariatric office, you meet with the Nutritionist, then the surgeon, then the insurance verification rep. Once we got all set up, I have to make my appt for my psych eval. They have to have the results from the eval before they send my chart to insurance. We actually meet with the nutritionist at every follow up and fill appt. I have my psych eval TOMORROW!

Did your Doc require a pre-op diet?
DH surgeon (my soon-to-be surgeon:biggrin:) has us to a 10 day liquid/mushy diet. High protien and low carb/fat. DH lost 15lbs during that 10 days.

Help! Can't stand protein shakes!
There are quite a few protien supplements out there that don't taste like milk. UNJURY has a chicken stock flavored powder that is good to add to things. By itself, it's a bit powdery tasting, but if you add to chicken broth, it's good. Also, there is a fruit drink called ISOPURE, my DH gets it at Drug Emporium (vitamin and health food store). There are several flavors. Only down fall, is it make DH very thirsty. I guess it help him drink his water!

HELP! Referral letter from doctor!
OK, my surgeon wants to plead a case to my insurance company so I won't have to do the six months diet history with my PCP. I have over a year ove detail weight loss/gain history already. ANYWAY, my doctor wants me to write the letter, and she'll sign it. I have no idea what all to write in the letter. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to word this??:confused2: Thank SO much!

Howdy from Alberta
I new as well. I have my consultation with my surgeon today. My ins requires me to wit 6 month. Where is Alberta are you. I was born in Calgary, and live there off on on till I was 13, then moved to Texas!

Keeping it a secret?
I have my consultation with my surgeon tomorrow, and I know I have to wait at least 6 months because of my insurance. My DH and I are in this together. We have told my mom and his mom, and thats it. We will tell everyone later - probably - but not until closer to the surgery date. He has a very judgemental family and my sister would be very jealous. DH was 421lbs on surg date and we had discussed me having surgery. I'm 260 and my sister is about 300, and she voiced her opinion then about things not being fair. I'm doing this for me - MY HEALTH, but I don't want to stir up anything until I have everything in order.:confused2:

Newbie from East Texas!!! Hopes to be banded soon...
You know, I could really get in trouble on this site. The is so much to read and learn and my computer at work is so much faster than the one I have at home:biggrin2: I am really excited. I have two family members that have had GB and my DH had LP almost a year ago, so I know I'm ready now.

Where is everyone from????
Hey everyone! I'm new to this site. I'm in Tyler, TX (halfway between Dallas and Shreveport), originally from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I have my consultation this Thursday!!!

Newbie from East Texas!!! Hopes to be banded soon...
Hey everyone! I'm new here, obviously. My husband told me about this site. He was banded 05/21/07, and I have my consultation with the surgeon 03/27/08. I'm excited and nervous. I meet all the qualifications, we just need to submit it to my insurance to get the ball rolling. I meet the 100lbs and 40+ BMI, but my insurance requires me to have 6 doctors visits in 6 months.
