  1. I have medicare and am in process of getting requirements together...doctor said they don't care how much you lose...it's a delay tactic...hoping you'll change your mind. some states require the six month diet and some don't. must have diabetes, sleep apnea, or hypertension. good luck!
  2. Has anyone had any experience with medicare??? I am on the six month diet and wonder how long it takes after that?? I go to a seminar next week and maybe I'll be able to ask questions...any suggestions? Any body in Mississippi?? How do you do the " tickers "???
  3. congratulations!! You sound very determined and that's good! I am new to all of this and have just started the 6 month diet for medicare requirements. I have started walking and have lost 6 lbs...it's a start! Use this forum to TALK to everyone...I have been reading for weeks and have learned so much. There's great support here!
  4. I'm in the very beginning of the lap band journey...the six month diet for medicare. I'm very anxious and want to do this asap. I'm 59 years old and want to see my grand children grow up. I want to be healthier and be able to walk for enjoyment without giving out. I've lost seven lbs and I'm walking several times a day. i have incentive, though. I admire all of you for the hard work youre doing since your bands! I can't wait to be one of you. My husband is going to do this with me and I think that will make the whole process easier. Is anyone else in Mississippi and did anyone else go medicare? 281 lbs in beginning...274 now...duweb:smile:
  5. Hi...congratulations. I, too, am just beginning the process. I'm on the 6 month diet as a requirement for insurance. How long did you have to wait? It seems like it will take forever.
  6. Hi...right now I'm on the 6 month diet as a requirement for medicare. I lost 7 lbs. the first week...probably because I'm walking several times a day. As for the liquid diet, I had to do it for 2 weeks several years ago before having hiatel hernia surgery. It really wasn't that bad and I lost 20 lbs. I'm just in the beginning stages of this journey and wanting it to hurry up. Now that I've made up my mind to have the lap band surgery it seems like it will be a lifetime to wait. My husband and I decided to both have the surgery and I think it will be much easier to do this together...I know the dieting is easier since i cook the same thing for both of us! Did anyone else have to diet for 6 months prior to surgery due to insurance? Is anyone from mississippi?
