Total Frustration...
Hi Everyone, I've been sorta lurking around in here & on a group I belong to on Facebook. I have, what I feel to be, a frustrating issue & am not sure how to address it. A little background. back in 2011 I had a gastric sleeve done in Mexico, 2012 the acid reflux started & now it's out of hand. I was referred to a gastro & my 1st meeting with him we discussed him doing a bypass, which I have no problem with. He did an endoscopy & then I had to start seeing the round of Dr's to be fast tracked. Well on May 3 I had to go for my final green light, and I was given a yellow light from the psychologist. Reason 1) I was 4 days away from being smoke free for 60 days, 2) they have to talk to my therapist that I have been seeing since the end of February, and 3) I have to read a book called "End Emotional Eating". I was told that I have to read this, not because I'm an emotional eater, which I'm not, but because she says that I graze because I eat smaller meals spread throughout the day because of my sleeve, but I felt that she was just not understanding that I am NOT grazing. She is an intern, and I even tried telling her attending that I am not grazing, but I don't think that she knows enough of the story. Needless to say I have tried to read this book, I have tried to listen to this book, but I just can't get into it & I have to give her my take on the book before she will green light me. Also too, as of this past Wed, she has not called my therapist, and he has been waiting for the phone call from her so that he can get me part B of the green light. I am open to suggestions because this is beyond frustrating & I don't know what to do. Thanks, Lauri

RNY revision in Mexico/BeLiteWeight
Jillmiranda, I also went through BeLite & it was a horrible experience for me as well & JoAnne & a few others were there, but it wasn't the hospital stay that was horrible, it was the service. I had questions after the surgery & no one would return my calls, but if my payment was late I would get a phone call really fast & several emails wanting their money. I hope your weight loss went OK, mine didn't. I had the sleeve & due to lack of information & all I gained most of my weight back. I will be having a revision, basically due to acid reflux & GERD, to the bypass. I am REALLY looking forward to that & looking forward to losing the weight like I need to.

Please prepare your support person! (Husband / Wife / Partner)
Sherrie, Hubby & I were truck drivers, We both drove a total of about 18 years, about 2 of them together. One time before we met my hemmies (so much easier to spell that LOL) were bad that I went to a clinic & the Dr lanced it, then gave me pain med & antibiotic, well, antibiotics also tend to give me hemmies. (There are maybe 2 kinds I can take with no issues, that's it), well gee, guess what happened? I was back at the clinic the next day, and this was about a week before Christmas, luckily I was staying at a Comfort Suites practically across the street from the clinic because bumps & using the clutch to start & stop in a semi truck was murder LOL So next day I was back in there to have them lanced again. About 4 years ago we were in Colorado & they were REALLY bad, when they get bad hubby takes care of them (too tough with my weight), and I we were talking about taking me to the hospital. Finally the pain calmed down & I got some sleep. When it was my turn to drive I called my dispatcher & told her what was going on, I started driving, and even hubby was amazed at how loud I could yell in pain LOL Needless to say after a day or so they finally subsided. I had my family Dr refer me & the Dr that 1st did a colonoscopy, then removed my hemmies, was a good man & REALLY funny. When we went in he examined me, and when we were discussing the ectomy he said that I am going to want to punch him in the face every day for at LEAST 10 days. I had my surgery on Friday January 13th. Luckily he was having a good day LOL Needless to say, come January 17th, I was screaming so loud & crying so bad when I went to the bathroom that I surprised the police didn't show up at our door LOL I emailed him after about a week & told him that punch & face were not quite what I had in mind, kick & balls were more along what I was thinking at this point LOL Needless to say, when I told him that I needed to have an endoscopy done, he referred me to Dr Gabrielson, and when I told him about me having the sleeve done in 2011 (I didn't lose much weight) & that I get really bad heartburn & GERD that he told me that I am an excellent candidate to be fast tracked for the gastric bypass. So now I'm doing all the reading & trying to understand things. When I had the sleeve done I had it done in Mexico, so I didn't have to read or study anything, they told me to make sure I put myself into ketosis for 2 weeks prior to my surgery, then tell me what to eat post op & that was it. After that, at least in my case & the group I went with, they could have cared less, with the exception of getting the money from me. So basically that's my life story for the last 10 years LOL

Sherrie, I can relate. My husband is wonderful, he has been through a few surgeries with me, but the worst surgery that I ever had & NEVER want again was a hemorrhoidectomy surgery. It was horrible & the most painful surgery I have EVER experienced in my life! Next time I'll just deal with the hemorrhoids LOL

Anyone Near Danville, PA?
Hi, My name is Lauri, I am happily married to my husband Ray, I'm 48 years old & as the title says, I'm in Danville, PA. I'm looking for anyone around here that has maybe recently had gastric bypass, or even better yet sleeve to bypass revision. I am being fast tracked & am looking for someone that I can turn to for help, support, and who can relate to what I'm going through. Right now, even though I'm extremely happily married & my husband is more than supportive, he just can't fully understand the loneliness, and the changes that I have had to deal with in such a short time. On March 8th I quit smoking, on March 27th I started the diet that the hospital put me on. I was told that I only have to maintain my weight, but I have actually lost 10lbs since March 21st when I went to see the nutritionist. Yep, I defied the odds, I quit smoking AND lost weight LOL!!!!! As I said, I'm looking for someone who is going, or has gone, through the WLS through Geisinger
