I'm What????!!!????
Thank you all so much for responding...this has been a situation where I was feeling really alone (knowing no one else this has happened to...let alone another pregnant bandster). While this baby is a blessing, I was so worried that I would damage my band and would have gone through a lot physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially all to end up in a big mess. Thanks again!!

I'm What????!!!????
Hi All~ So got the biggest shock I've had in the last decade...yup pregnant!! Pregnant and banded. Our other children (2 girls) are going to be 11 and 9. Here I am...losing weight...going on a cruise for our 10 year anniversary...thinking thin and sassy cute thoughts...and I am pregnant! Don't get me wrong we are really excited, but also a little nervous. I would love to hear from others who are or have been in this predicament or know someone else who has been. I didn't figure this out until I was almost 12 weeks (almost through the first trimester!) and now I go for my first ob appointment on Monday. I am scheduled for an unfill after speaking to the doctor and was wondering if this is standard for pregnant bandsters? How much weight did you gain in your pregnancy? Was it significantly less than in other pregnancies? Would love any and all feedback! Thanks so much!!

Hey Laura~ I went to mexico with my cousin who is from Calgary...we both had a positive experience with Dr. Kuri. She did have a doctor in place before she left to handle her post care. Good Luck to you!!

Pregnant
Congrats Christi!!! I also have PCOS and was only able to get pregnant at under 200 lbs. At what point in your weightloss did your cycle go back to normal? How much have you lost? Hubby and I would love to have another baby when the time is right (we have 2 girls 8 and 10 years old). Anyway, a big congratulations on this special occasion!!!!

Lap Band in Mexico
Hi, My Husband and I were banded in Monterrey by Dr. Delagarza 4 days a go...The Hotel in right there and we had a fine experince. There were a few kinks like the Dr. Was late for Surgery and he wasn't able to meet us when we arrived. The hospital was clean and they have a wonderful staff. A few of my friends Highly recommend Dr. Kuri and I have heard WONDERFUL things about him. Stephanie the patient corrdinator was new and was wonderful. Hope this helps.

Lower Mainland Fill Docs????
Hi everyone, I know that I just hijacked a Canadian only section. But, I live in Washington and was wondering if you could tell me any fill docs and if you knew what they charge. It just might be closer if I crossed the border then going to Seattle. Thanks in advance...also would love to know about your experiences with your fills, this will be a first for me.

Really Disappointed
Hi all, So, this is my current issue. After at least a year of careful consideration and education I was banded on July 8th. My problem is I feel like somewhere along the way my excitement/motivation disappeared. I don't know if I am just overwhelmed, a lot has been happening in my personal life. I just feel really disappointed...not in the band...in myself. I completely followed the "rules" for the post-op month and ever since then I just kind of get through the day. I have figured out that I am tight in the morning and even into the afternoon, so I wait and then eat later when it feels safe. I have figured out if something is "stuck" take a drink or walk around. I have mostly figured out that I am just falling into old bad habits or making new ones and I am so disappointed in myself its not even funny. I think it really hit me when I made the first payment on the $10,000 gift I gave myself how completely and utterly dissapointed in myself I actually am. I was just wondering if anyone else went through this??? How did you get back on track? Do you think this is just from 6 months of a lot of highs and lows in my life? Please respond with care. It's not that I can't handle correction...I can...it's just that I am already being really hard on myself and just want to get inspired again. It's not that I have done anything horrific, I just haven't given it the effort I thought I would. I would appreciate all you have to offer on this. Thanks everyone :faint:

???? For Dr. C
Hi Dr. C, I was just banded on July 8th and the problem I am having is that some days certain foods that work for me quite likely won't work the next. Not only is this frustrating, but I have also pb'd at least 10 times as a result. All but one time were painless and quick. It is just upsetting when I am trying my best to follow the rules and lose weight and day to day I don't know what a good approach or eating plan is because it always changes. I would love some advice. Also, while I am going through this it makes me uneasy to get my first fill due to the fact the one day I feel bandless and the next I have obnoxious restriction. I appreciate all you have to offer on this. Thanks in advance.

Drinking Question
Thanks everyone, It seems that most people do drink before and I think if I do that I will have an easier time not drinking during my meals. I was trying to figure out how to get all my water in before losing 6 hours a day from waiting before and after eating!!! This should help.

help, stuck right now
Abbey, The only thing that has ever worked for me in my couple pb episodes is little sips of warm tea. Hope it helps...I'm a newbie too and swore I was never going to pb and the only advantage I have found is that we learn really quickly. I sure hope you feel better.

Drinking Question
Hi all, I just had a question that I have never really been able to figure out, and forgot to ask my doc. I completely understand why we aren't supposed to drink after eating for at least an hour and a half, but I am so confused as to why we can't drink before for at least a half hour???? It makes no sense since watching my barium swallow right day after surgery and watched the liquid go right through the band. Anyway, I figured you all would know. Also, this is my biggest challenge, any advice on how you get through not drinking with or after meals??? Thanks in advance
