    May Sleevers?

Ask your surgeon and nutritionist. That was my big issue. My husband was amazed that with all the complications and life changes I would have to make, my biggest worry was coffee. I love coffee. My surgeon said I could have a cup a day with frothed milk. I am 2 weeks post op and can only get about a half a cup down, but I get the taste and I am happy with my daily coffee fix.

    For the 45+ crowd

I have a couple of friends that have had surgery and they do look a bit older at first, but it seems that with time (and maybe some injectables) they look great. I'm only two weeks out and doing great, but I've lost a lot of weight on my face. I am exfoliating and moisturizing like crazy. I also think keeping hydrated is super important. I will keep you all updated. I went to a botox party once and almost passed out watching people getting it done. I don't think that will be an option for me unless they completely knock me out.

    Boobies...ugh

I have never lost cup size. This time the weight loss has been very rapid. My cup size is the same and they are looking pretty good. However, my chest circumference has gone down. I am wearing jogging bras until things settle a bit. I do have that attractive uni boob look, but I am so happy about the weight loss, I could care less.
  4. I've been stepping on the scale every day. I went under 200 for the first time two days ago. I stepped on this morning and I was at 200.1, it upset me. I realize that is silly. However, going under 200 was such a milestone for me it has been years. I know it will go down again. I plan on weighing myself every morning fro the near future. I am only 2 weeks post-op. I just want to see what my body is doing.
  5. Great News!!!! I wish you all the best. Slow and steady. I am two weeks post-op and doing great. I am so happy that I had this surgery. It has changed my life already and all for the good.

    May Sleevers?

Surgery was 2 weeks ago yesterday!!! I am doing great. There has been the pain (but I only used the pain meds for , I've felt tired, but I have had no major issues. I have been taking it slow and being really conscious of what I am eating, counting my protein, and getting my water in. It is an all day thing. I've never thought so much about what I eat. Today I stepped on the scale and was under 200 pounds for the first time in years. I am so happy and thankful.

    May Sleevers?

It's one day at a time. You will see results. I find that eating and drinking really slowly does it for me. I am in the pureed food stage now, I eat so slow. If I do not, I feel it. I was a super fast eater, so this has been a huge adjustment. I found and unflavored protein called UnJury that has been a life saver.

Hang in there. Did they give you anti nausea meds? It is probably the anesthesia, it will get better.

    May Sleevers?

Try Unjury Unflavored protein powder. You have to order it online. 20 grams in each scoop and it truly tastes like nothing. I put it on everything. I found a chicken and beef broth with 5 grams per half cup, I add the powder. I also drink it with apple juice and all I taste is the apple juice. Try Oikos triple zero yogurt, vanilla flavored. It has 15 grams of protein per serving. Not sweet and pretty tasty. I also order a chewable multi-vitamin from Unjury.com called Opurity and that is helpful. I get my 60 grams of protein relatively easy, with the help of this powder. I wish you all the best.

    May Sleevers?

Everyone is nervous before. I was sleeved on May 9th without complications. Yes, there is pain. Yes, there are challenges. It is one day at a time. I tell you it has only been over a week and I feel amazing. Every day I feel better, I look better, and I am thankful every day that I had this procedure. I am so excited for you. Stay positive!

    May Sleevers?

I had my surgery on May 9th. In addition to having the sleeve, I had my gallbladder removed. The surgeon discovered a hietal hernia, he went ahead and fixed that. I spent two nights in the hospital. My surgeon and his team were amazing from the moment I arrived. My husband stayed with me in the room and that was great because he was able to help me get to the restroom and just having him there was amazing. I wanted to avoid the pain medication, but with I have realized they are a tool to help me get better. I spoke with my doctor and am using something that does not make me feel loopy or nauseous. Yesterday, I tried taking just one, instead of two every four hours and it is working well so far. I also need daily blood thinner shots. I was nervous about that, but the entire family has decided to help out. Truly I do not even feel them. I have pretty good mobility. I can walk, go up Eating is a new experience. It takes me 30 minutes to eat two tablespoons of Cream of Wheat and drink 1/2 cup of apple juice, both with Unjury unflavored protein powder. It is one swallow at a time, seeing how that goes, and then going forward. I've always been a fast eater, so this is all new to me. I've tolerated everything on the liquid diet well. I am going to try for puree foods starting next Thursday and then go one food item at a time. I look at this as a journey. I am a teacher, so I do not have to rush back to work. Having said that, we are moving this summer and my oldest is heading to college. We are going to be busy. I will have to learn how my eating new normal on the road.

    May Sleevers?

I am 5 days post surgery and doing great. It is a huge adjustment, but so worth it already. You will be fine. Trust your surgeon and his team. They are there to make sure you do well. After surgery, follow their advice. I am not a huge fan of pain meds. However, I learned to take them every 4 hours, not to let them lapse. Yesterday I started taking one pill instead of two and that works well for me. Walk as much as you can after. Eating becomes a long process. To eat 2 tablespoons of cream of wheat takes me about 15 to 20 minutes, but I want to give my sleeve time to heal. You will do great! Stay positive! I already feel so much better physically.
  14. I have the same sensation. I was sleeved on May 9th. My surgeon allows cream of wheat, and yogurt in the liquid phase. I have that feeling at times when I eat those foods. I just eat very slowly and take breaks between bites.
  15. I have been focusing on the positive. If negative thoughts come in I push them away, and try to think positive thoughts. I am really confident in my surgeon and my team. I am nervous, and looking forward to my new life, but not scared.

    May Sleevers?

Surgery is two days away! I am so happy that I've made it through the 800 calorie liquid diet phase. I had to work for most of it and my main problem was feeling lethargic. I was using about 3,000 calories and consuming 800. Now that I am home and can rest when I start feeling a need to, it has been easier. After about day 2 of the liquid diet, I stopped feeling hungry and started just feeling tired. On many days, I struggle to get that last shake in. I'm getting the protein, but not the calories. I can also smell food like a bloodhound. I can smell the ingredients in every meal. My husband has been doing the cooking. I did cook yesterday, but it was hard. TWO DAYS!!!! I'm excited and nervous. I know all is going to be well.

    May Sleevers?

I am so glad you are doing well. What an inspiration. Did your nausea last a long time? Was it the anesthesia? I am glad to hear that Gas x Chewables are helping. I am on day 4 of the liquid diet and it has been hard. I am so ready for the surgery and hearing your story gives me hope.

    May Sleevers?

Oh no! That happened to me when I had my appendix taken out and it is something I worry about. I have spoken to my surgeon and anesthesiologist about this and they are confident they can handle it. I'm sending you positive vibes and hope you are out of the hospital soon and ready for your great new life.

    May Sleevers?

I am on day 4 or my liquid diet. It has been rough. I feel okay physically. I am a teacher and run around a lot. My caloric intake is only 800 calories of protein shakes. On an average day, I burn about 3,000 calories a day. By the end of the day, I am exhausted. Today, I am downright weepy. Feeling overwhelmed. We are moving about a month after my surgery. I know that it all work out well. But I still have so much to do at work and then for the move, and my oldest son leaves for college in August. My family is super supportive and I am so excited about the surgery. This group is awesome.
