  1. I'm six weeks post. It's great you're so close to goal. My goal is another 90lbs away. I've been fortunate not to have much nausea and I haven't vomited yet. Just starting to add in more foods so I know it will happen. I'm in Va.
  2. How are things going? I am starting to feel somewhat normal, although still a bit fatigued. Down 56lbs so far so I'm excited about that.
  3. Great job on the loss so far. I hope you get the vomiting resolved quickly. I'm doing pretty well so far. My surgery was 4/18 and I came home from hospital on 4/21. They wanted to keep me there an extra day since I am 2 hours from that hospital. My biggest challenge so far has been getting my fluid intake up. Yesterday I was up to 30oz and today around 40 but still a ways to go to get to the 64 they would like. Overall pain has been pretty minimal, however I did have two nights of no sleep due to severe discomfort in my back. I assume it was gas related but today has been really good. I'm really looking forward to next week when I can add yogurt, applesauce, and oatmeal to my food list too a little worried about vomiting that may come with it.
  4. I start my liquid diet tomorrow. Only three days required pre-op. That said I did have to drop 15 pounds prior to scheduling. I'm not overly concern don't with the liquid diet, I've done all liquid before without much issue. I am most concerned with staying hydrated post op.

  6. I'm having mine the 18th too. Good luck to you.
  7. Yes RNY, getting nervous as my surgery approaches. It's my first surgery of any type.
  8. I am having my procedure on 4-18. I'm also a 44yr male. How's things going now that it's been several weeks since your surgery?
  9. I've been struggling with the best way to discuss/explain my surgery with my kids. I have a 17 year old son and 11 year old daughter that I want to make sure understand what's going on, but I don't want them to worry. I also want to be sensitive to the issues of dieting and health in general and not over discuss it with them. I just want to be sure both understand the importance of heathy diet and exercise. Neither of my children have weight issues and both are very active. Any feedback on how others have approached this with their children would be much appreciated.

  12. Does anyone have any pre-op diet advice? I am starting my 2 week pre-op and looking for ideas on food choices.
  13. Scheduled for April 18, so the reality is starting to set in, which is leading to excitement, fear, and a host of other emotions.
