I am going to be band next month, but now I have run across a possible problem. I have a friend who was band last April and her company went to apply for health insurance and was denied her because she had lap-band surgery. I am a self pay and my company is looking for new health insurance but are waiting until I have my surgery and have some of my weight off, but if the insurance company(ies) are going to deny me coverage I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else run across this problem or did you apply and it was not an issue. I am so confused!!!! What are your thoughts????

I'm scheduled for April 21st, but now they are having me get a stress test because it has been so long since my last test and my family history. I can't get in to see a cardio Dr. until the 9th for a consulation and after that have the stress test. So, it is not look so good to meet the April 21st date. I am frusterated, I just want to get this done and start a new chapter of my life!!!!!

Hi Heather, Just wanted to make contact with you. I was at my first support group with Dr. Meyers group this past Tuesday and you made me feel very welcome. I am scheduled for my banding on April 21st if my stress test comes out clean. I know when we taked I sounded a little discouraged because of some delays I am having but truly I am very excited to have this procedure done. I am very anxious to become involved in the local support groups and meet people who have had this procedure done. I have a good friend who had this done one year ago and she has truly been my inspiration. Hope to meet up with you and others in the Columbus area.
