  1. Darn, now you got me started on that chewy NY bagel! Lol.:smile2:
  2. Hi everyone. I'm pretty new to this board. Surgery date 3/19/08 23 lbs. lost since surgery.
  3. Today was my second fill 1.5cc in a 10 cc band. Had surgery 3/19/08 and my first fill was 2.5 cc on 4/15/08. My doctor usually does fills on a monthly basis and was reluctant to give me another fill since it's only been 2 wks. since my first fill. I went in for a follow-up on sonogram results (not related to the band) and practically begged him for a fill since I've been soooo hungry. So far since surgey I've lost 23 lbs.
  4. Hi SanDiegoPhotog, to start I commend you for taking such a huge step in not going with your first choice. I hope you find the right surgeon and with all the reasearch that you are doing I'm sure you will. My surgeon, Dr. Bhoyrul from Alvarado Hospital in San Diego has done over 700 Lap-Band surgeries. I had researched him before my surgery. He has written several journals on Laparoscopic surgery and is very knowledgeable in this field. I asked him if he had any deaths or serious complications and told me he hadn't. Sooo... to answer your question on how many surgeries are enough to make a doctor competent, 700 was good enough for me. Had it been 200, 300, 400 may be I would had thought about it twice. Good luck on your journey to Lap-Band land.
