  4. I will let you know my impressions of the facility and Dr. Corvala. I have researched like crazy and feel I am informed but it still feels desperate to be going to Tijuana for surgery. I checked where I live in Cali and I was quoted $17,500. Dr. Corvala is charging $6,500. I know my life is worth the difference but he has very good credentials and I am self pay. My insurance won't cover the procedure because I don't have enough co-morbid issues. I too have depression, mainly anxiety. I notice a lot of folks on here mention that but I don't think that is a surprise. Being overweight isn't fun. Hang in there and get that passport!
  5. How exciting! Blessings for a easy procedure and quick recovery.
  6. kinipela24 - good question. I am scheduled to have surgery on March 6th with Dr. Corvala. I have what is probably nature nervousness but have only heard good things about him out on the net. I do have two nieces that went to him and have no regrets. Fingers crossed I have the same experience.

  12. March 6th and kinda freaking out! Hoping this is the right decision.
  13. Thank you Berry78 for your response to my post. I like the idea of doing some kind of prep to help my body get ready for this big change.
  14. I am scheduled for gastric sleeve on March 6th with Dr. Corvala in Tijuana. If someone had told me I would ever consider this I would not have believed them. But, I am so tired of being overweight, having high cholesterol, hip pain, etc. that I have committed. However, Dr. Corvala has not required that I do any pre-surgery diet. I can eat anything up until 10:00 p.m. the night before surgery. Has anyone else done this and, if so, did it work out okay? I am really scared. I will be 65 in March and wonder if I am too old for this.
