Mini Me!!!!! I just found out last night. I'm the first surgery at 7:30 !!!!! So when your getting there...I'll be getting banded! I have to be there at 5:30!! Which means we are getting up at 4 am!:faint: I'm so nervous too. Send a blessing at that time if you remember, and I'll send one right now to you because I'll be three sheets to the wind by the time you arrive.

I know the surgeons say this is rare and chances are slim, but heck...just on this little board it isn't rare! I have to woder if the band can be in anyone long term? And if it can't, then why we do we go through this? :-(

I went to the ER once for stomach pains when I was 22. They actually laughed at me. I heard the nurses and doctor saying "She is in because her tummy hurts..boo-hoo". They released me and I went to my GP who finally found out I had an ulcer. Jerks.

I couldn't sleep last night. I am so worried about the surgery. It's more so the after of the surgery worrying me. I am going through a bad flare of fibromyalgia and asmtha right now, so I am worried how my body will react to the surgery. I'm so worried I will not heal right or my lungs will have such a rough time I will end up in serious condition.. So worried.:help:

Wow Joanne, this is terrible news. I've been reading about the problems you have been experiencing, but didn't expect THIS. I thought they would come up with something. SO sorry.

hehehe Thankee Vines. The surgeon's office said I'm the first one out the gate Monday morning, which means a 5:50 call time. We have a drive, so we will be getting up at 4 am. Yikes! Dancer, that is very pretty. I love fireflies too.

None of the docs seem to get that it's not that we can't go on a diet, it's that it doesn't STICK. Hunger always wins out in the end and the weight comes back.

Thank you three ladies for replying, it makes me feel SO MUCH better to know you have been through it and understand what I am going through. It would be a major relief if the weight loss helped me during that time of the month. It's so bad everything stops. I can't do anything but feel very sick on the couch. Thanks for the tips. I am also concerned with finding out which foods I can't olerate. Seems PBing is a hellofva way to find out! SOmeone said they have a "two minute rule". That they take a bite and if all is well after two minutes, they continue on.

I'm being banded on Monday. Reading this stuff is so discouraging because it makes one think it's not "if" you slip, but "when" you slip. Do US doctors truly have a handle on how to put in the band, or is the device just not perfected yet?

I'm reading some of the stuff here and it's making me think if I'm doing the right thing. I read a lot of slips this month.It seems like a slip is not "if" but "when", and that freaks me out. More surgeries to have to endure. Yesterday I saw a pulmonary specialist and he said he is glad I came in about my asthma because "Monday your ass is on the line " in his words. And I just got my period. I have a really hard time with them as I am PCOS and I have two uterine fibroids. I get really weak and dizzy and a feeling of general malaise. They are really heavy, enough to make me anemic. I have to take Iron pills. SO last night I lay in bed really not in a good place:cry !!!
