  1. Hi everyone i am from philipsburg area and having my surgery through geisinger i am going to my first appt. Tomorrow and am so excited just cant wait to start my new life!
  2. I cant believe it i left the doctors office bawling today. I went into the office dead set on getting a referral for weight loss surgery. I am at an all time high of 319 lbs and miserable! But things took a drastic turn, as i asked my doctor whom I have known for 10 plus years but just recently started back as her patient for the referral she was more than happy to give it to me...then she asked the question, so how many kids do you have? I looked at her head held down trying to hold back the tears...none doctor i was never able to concieve. She then proceeds to tell me that i could have weight loss surgery any time but my child bearing days are quickly ending (i am 35) i would need to decide fertility treatments or weight loss surgery???? Really..and she was leaning towards fertility. I feel so defeated, like a mac truck has run over me.
  3. Hello everyone this is my first post,so please bear with me. I have PCOS and hypothyroidism, and started the journey for WLS i was leaning more towards gastric sleeve, due to recovery time and some other reasons but i was told due to my issues and the amount i need to loose (i am 5'4" and 315 lbs) that bypass would be better. I guess my main question is has anyone who has PCOS and hypothyroidism had the bypass, did it help with symptoms? How was weight loss? I am unable to have kids due to my PCOS, has anyone been in this same boat and been able to have kids after weight loss due to the symptoms of PCOS decreasing? Thanks
