  1. Thank you for your reply. It always helps! everyday seems to be getting easier, still some hard days but i am starting to feel normal again. Hoping things carry on! Well done on your weight loss!! Very proud . Im down 34 pounds since surgery now :-) nearly 3 weeks good luck in life !
  2. Hey all, just hoping to hear people's opinions. I'm hoping this is just a phase as I am so demotivated to do anything even work. My pain levels are pretty low but I'm so remorseful and depressed and I don't know why. I've lose about 18 pounds since the start of my pre op diet which is wonderful but I just can't shake this horrible feeling of dread. Drinking shakes and Water is still pretty painful as I get slot of gas straight away but I'm struggling through it. Anyone have any idea when these sort of gas pains will stop? It's just constantly burping after I drink. was anyone else depressed and remorseful afterwards and how long did it last ? Any reply would be appreciated thanks
  3. I'm about 2 and half weeks out now. Today I nearly hit my goals, I'm eating better drinking better and my depression is almost Gone. I still hate the fact I can't eat as I love eating. But that was my problem and I'm moving on! Today I woke up feeling great for the first time since surgery. Almost feel like myself again! Yesterday was bad though felt like I was going to pass out, but thay was because I hadn't been eating right the few days before! Do your best to eat the right stuff and drink as much as you can :-) it's a battle but you gotta keep fighting!!!!! 35 pounds lost!!!! wooo god I miss McDonald's large toffee lattes :-( I can manage half of a regular now tho! Lol good luck in life!
  4. From speaking with people who are 3+ years the generally do saybthey can eat a little bit more. Maybe it's just the stomach relaxing or maybe they are just more comfortable with it and know what to eat . There seems to be a lot of debating going off some surgeons say it can stretch some say it cannot. I guess time will tell. I for sure am hoping it does. I would like to learn new ways of eating and new habits and over the years be able to eat slightly more (no where near pre op amounts) but I'd like to be able to treat myself to a burger or something one day lol! But I'm early on in and I am missing my comfort foods. Maybe this will change with time too and I will see food more as a fuel for my body rather than an activity or an emotional crutch. when you say 'if it does people are eating wrong' what do you mean? Do you mean people are constantly eating till they're super full and eventually stretching it? Or? im still really struggling with not being hungry and having to force feed myself everyday. I don't like it and I am hoping my hunger returns somewhat. I don't even want a cup of coffee in the morning yet which is getting me down as I love coffee! But I seem to be forcing myself to drink a small cup in the mornings :-(
  5. That's great! today is a much better day! I woke up and decided not to let my anxiety beat me! I'd like to state to anyone who's reading this who's in a similar position that of course it gets better! Everything always gets better. We've all had times in our life where we are so down and regretful but it always works out! My anxiety is what is making this so difficult for me not the actually surgery(even tho they are both hard) I'm going to miss eating huge amounts so much! But I decided to do this surgery because I couldn't control my portions and I do wish I knew more before my surgery because I'd like to have opted for a slightly larger stomach (maybe 10oz) or so as I think that would have suited me much better! but from speaking to people who are 3+ years out it does seem to stretch over the years so hopefully I'll be able to drink a full cup of coffee one day! :-) keep ep your heads up guys and girls it's a fun and stressful ride but I'm 29 pounds down 12 days after surgery and starting puree soon!!! Wooo
  6. I'm glad to hear it! Thanks for posting. Today's been dreadful for me but it's nearly bedtime and tomorrow is a new day! Only two day s left till purée food so at least I can get some sort of sustenance . Hope you're all well I'm down 29 pounds sijxe pre op diet about 25 days ago
  7. Thank you, I hope you're right I hope it gets easier. going to book into my doctors but I don't see how they can help I've been down that route before I really don't want to take any benzos :-( the withdrawals are bad
  8. I do regret my desicion still, mainly due to the physiological problems I'm having st the minute. I feel like crap pretty much all day until the night time. 12 days in I can't drink much as I feel quite sick all the time, well not really sit just don't want to eat/drink anything have to force water and protein down myself. Every morning i am so anxious for hours sit there regretting my desicion reading forums and I know it isn't good for me. Just had a huge panic attack about an hour into a 7 hour drive. was hoping the drive would take my mind off things I had to jump out of the car now I'm waiting at a motorway services for someone to come pick me up as the guy I was with has had to continue the journey. im just sat here panicking anxious wondering what have I done to myself I just want to feel normal again ?? i think its worth mentioning I've been battling my anxiety for a few years now but the surgery has made it flare up really bad as feeling tired and things make me really anxious I pray to god things get easier
  9. What kind of health issues have you experienced ?
  10. That's not what I wanted to hear, lol.
  11. My depression is slightly better but my anxiety is still there. Taking it day by day! My friends sat here eating a big kebab and all I can think about is how I'm never going to be able to binge on a big kebab again:-( but i I guess that's what got me here keep your head up mate! It will get me better
  12. Hello guys and girls. I'm only 4 days post op so I know I'm probably swollen and my pouch doesn't really show how it will be in the future but I have a couple questions regarding drinking! anyone who's past the 6-8 weeks stage how is drinking for you? At the moment I'm really struggling to get down much more than 100ml an hour or so. What's it like for you guys? How much Water can you drink in one sitting? Like when you wake up in the morning can you mansnge a full cup of coffee? any replies greatly appreciated
  13. I wish I could drink 10oz at s time! 2-4oz max
  14. Hello people, wondering if if anyone else has issues with a numb thigh after surgery? It's the outer most portion of my thigh and it's been numb for about 3 days now. When I lay on my back in bed it wakes me up with almost like electric shock or bee sting types of pain which is quite intense. has anyone had this issue? Does it go away? My surgeon doesn't seem too bothered and says it'll probably go away but I don't really like how vague he is
  15. Regarding the dumping syndrome. I'm not sure if it's right but here's what happebed i felt ok until about 2pm. I had 350ml Protein shake and 1 and a half cups of coffee with 2 sugars. After my second half I started feeling weird light headed and dizzy. I was just pacing up and down my living room getting really anxious for about 40 minutes or so. Then all of a sudden my bowls let go with pretty serve diarrhoea. A lot of the symptoms I was feeling left almost immediately but after that I had really really bad anxiety for about mother 45 minutes then I was so fatigued I had to go straight to bed I couldn't sleep but I was so so so tired. About 2 hours later or so I felt a fair bit better
  16. Thank you everyone for such awesome replies. Things are getting easier. Had a little episode yesterday seemed similar to the symptoms of dumping syndrome I'm not sure if that's normal for the sleeve? Anyway did anyone else struggle to sleep after surgery? I stayed up till 11-12 last night to try and get tired but I'm still tossing and turning all night. Don't feel like I got much sleep at all? What helped you sleep?
  17. Yeah I'm drinking enough I think about 800-900ml of protein shake and 1-1.5 litre of Water a day. It's hard but sip sip sip. Might just be my underlying anxiety issues :-) my body doesn't like any sort of drugs lol they make my anxious even not getting a good sleep can leave me anxious all day
  18. I've been on with the shots too. Keeping getting waves of fatigue though. Anyone getting this? Was fine from 9.30 am and now at 4-5pm I'm so tired I had to go lay down it's horrible
  19. My surgery was the same day! Today is the day I actually felt better. Hitting those protein targets and liquids really helps plus getting s good kip like you say
  20. I pushed myself to get out yesterday (even though I was feeling terrible) I stayed up kind of late to get nice and tired and had a much better sleep. Not perfect but was good. Woke up feeling a new man had a really good day today he got some stuff done. Most of my anxiety/depression was gone. Im hoping I'm past the worst now :-) anyone reading this whos in the space position just hold on in there :-) it gets better
  21. Jamesarwin

Thigh numbness 2 days post op

How long have you had it? Did it come just after surgery? thanks
  22. If anyone else reads this who is slightly further on maybe 6month + and would like to share your experiences regarding drinking after being sleeved I'd love to hear it :-)
  23. That's great man really glad to hear it! I wish you well! :-)
  24. Yeah I'm the same before surgery I'd wait till I was thirsty then whackndownba pint or two of Water or juice then I'd be ok for ages. I'm a big guy at 6ft4 (193cm) so I'm hoping my bougie that was used would be slightly bigger than someone who was sat 5ft 10 as once I've lost weight I will need to be able to eat 1500+ calories a day I'd like to think to maintain a healthy life style. hows your gas? Do you still get gas come up every time you take a sip? Mines a lot better than a few days ago I can actually take a few decent size sips without too much gas but once I have maybe 3oz or so of liquid the gas starts coming up and is quite painful still thanks :-) and well done!!!! How's your weight loss?
  25. Thanks for the reply, I guess I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. I knew eating would be a lot harder but I wasn't expecting drinking to be so hard. But as you say It's still early days for me. Do you know if this will be forever? Like I don't understand certain things and my surgeon is very vague and doesn't have much time for me sadly. Am I going to be sipping for the rest of my life or will there ever be a point where I could gulp a couple mouth fills? Maybe 10oz or so at once ?
