  1. Was there ever a point when you felt your band wasnt working anymore? When did it start? 2 fills? 3? Thank you:wub: I feel like I have been at a plateau for awhile now.... Will that change with my 3rd fill?? I am at 5 1/2 ccs in a 10 cc band....Help please.
  2. I'm ok with my band....I'm just trying to adjust to what it wants me to do....I have lost 25 lbs since April 11th 2008....So...I guess thats ok. I had hoped to lose faster. But, I am dieting again, and it's much easier this time. Maybe I need another fill?? I have only had 2 so far. Thanks for your reply Do you have your band yet? If so how much have you lost?
  3. Yay...Im happy for you, Bandit! Let us know how it goes.
  4. Thanks to all who replied! Wow, I'm so glad to see that there are people like me out there....it makes this whole thing easier to accept. So...I guess the next step is to watch my intake as if I'm dieting again....BUT, it will be easier this time. We can and ARE making progress. Time is all we need now.
  5. Ok...So I JUST figured out that this thing aint just gonna work on its own. Very disappointing! I had my 2nd fill a week ago and am at 5 1/2 ccs....I am tighter at night than during the day so....I have to watch myself during the day....or I will eat every few hours. The lap band (for me) just makes it easier to diet..... Anyone else going through this? What have you all figured out? Anything similar?
  6. Sorry you had such a hard time. Sounds like you're doing good with the band though! Congratulations on all that weight loss. I had my band around the same time you did (4/11/08) and I've only lost 20 lbs ...But, I think if I didn't trust MY Dr. anymore I would go elsewhere for the fills. If he's some kind of hack he may puncture your band hose or something. It could be worth it to go ahead and pay someone else to do the fills. Thanks for your positive words to all of us...may your clothes do the same!
  7. Hi...I was banded April 11th and havent had a fill yet...I've only lost 18 lbs and have plateau'ed....When I get my first fill will I lose a lot more? Will the band feel different? Will I be able to tolerate everything as I do now? What all will change??? So confused...help?
  8. Feeling much better everybody....Thanks for everybodys responses...Its been overwhelming seeing how many others went through (and are going through) the same horrible feeling. Thank you so much to everyone who responded to this, and to all the people who are having a hard time: I wish you all speedy recoveries ...But, it just took some time like you all said. But, I NEVER feel hungry. Thats a good thing right??? I wonder if I will ever feel hungry again???
  9. It sure does!!! and coughing!!!!!!!!
  10. Nobody watch South Park or anything else really funny if you were recently banded.....I was banded last Friday....It hurts so much to laugh right now, it made me cry it hurt so bad. Just wanted to let ya know.
  11. Thank you Kat...My doctor told me it was ok to have pudding and that he considered it a liquid... but, the more I get on here the more I notice I am in the minority eating pudding just yet. I will do what you said...and drink water....and stay away from pudding..Thank you
  12. Sorry...I drank a danactive earlier...then much much earlier I had a pudding cup......I'm not in any pain but, I feel something swirling around in there....and I feel REALLY full. I havent puked or coughed up anything. I just feel like something is in there, and its been hours since I ate.
  13. I think my food is stuck...and the worst thing is: Im on all liquids!! What to do??

  17. Thanks to everyone who replied, it makes me happy to see that I have so many people who DO understand this. The nurse told me I would heal faster if I just stuck with Tylenol.....but SCREW THAT. I started taking the Darvocets today and am feeling much better. Thanks to everyone. You are all sweethearts and deserve the best.
  18. Thanks for the encouragement...It feels good to know that this feeling WILL pass.
  19. Aww...I dont mean to sound like I'm whining...I just wondered if everyone went through this depression thing. I cant wait to lose weight! It's just definitely a huge adjustment that I should've been expecting.
  20. You're right...I know...Im jumping the gun. Thank you for your advice. I will try to be more positive.
  21. I dont think I made the right decision about surgery anymore...I am in a lot of pain (gas and port site)and I cant tell when I am full until it starts hurting....Thats bad. I know I dont need to do that, but I just cant tell, especially with liquid. I really want my feelings to change and start loving my band like all of you...but, I'm having a hard time getting accustomed to this. Any advice greatly appreciated.
  22. I wish I could have a protein shake!! My doc said only clear liquid on day one.
  23. Thank God you guys...I feel SO much better...I was scared something was going horribly wrong!!! It's just Jello, I thought! LOL...Thanks again...You guys are angels.
  24. I was banded today, and I cant even eat jello...I tried 2 tiny bites...and it hurt my stomach...anyone else do this? I feel that I should be able to eat Jello!
