  1. watch out for the gel caps! i took an advil cold pill gel cap and it got stuck and i was so sick for days of not eating. even water didn't work. then i had to have a complete unfill. i try to avoid them now.
  2. i like the herb-ox chicken broth by hormel. and they're individual packets so you can make one cup at a time in the mocriwave. and if i'm not mistaken, the low-carb slim-fast has more protein than the protein one? i could never find a protein shake i liked though. so i drank slim-fast for some meals and to get protein at the beginning.
  3. i also had pcos before the lap band. i was banded in march of 2006 and lost 100 pounds. i now weigh 135! before i was having horrible menstrual problems, borderline diabetic, and i was taking metformin. now my blood sugar is normal, i don't take medicine anymore, and i'm not in danger of being diabetic. and my cycles are perfectly regular. it's one of the best decisions i've ever made! good luck!
  4. great! hope all goes well for you!
  5. dr. hahn did my surgery in march of 2006 and i lost 100 lbs. he is a great dr! he is very kind and patient. he isn't arrogant at all and his staff is wonderful. he is willing to do anything for his patients and answer any questions. i went to dr. spiegel at first and i found him arrogant and i felt rushed. dr. hahn is the opposite. i love dr. hahn and his staff! they also did my mom and my aunt's gastric bypass about 8 years ago and they are doing great! i'd recommend dr. hahn to anyone in southeast texas!
  6. that happens to me every so often. i had surgery 2 years ago. i just go back to a soft food or liquid diet until it passes. although one time i couldn't even keep down water to so i went to the dr. i looked bad. my eyes were sunken and i was pale. he deflated my band and ran tests to make sure it wasn't band slippage. eventually i got better and slowly got refilled. i think it was a cold pill i had taken. it was a huge gel-cap and it think it obstructed my band and wouldn't pass. but i'm all better now and refilled!
  7. I am 21 years old and I had surgery 2 years ago. I did it over spring break and I was back at school the next week. I could have gone back sooner but it was nice having time off. The surgery was not bad at all. I was worried about it being worth it and not losing enough weight. But I lost 100 lbs and I am a horrible patient. I eat ice cream and whatever I want. I don't do the protein shakes or eat healthy like I'm supposed to. I don't recommend anyone else behaving badly though. My Dr. said I was the youngest of his most successful patients and he asked me to make a commercial! Now I wear a size 5 or 6! It's the best decision I ever made and I'd recommend it to anyone!!!
