  1. I have this sinus thong going on right now too. Ever since it seems like the amount of mucus produced is causing my insides to flair up. I have been living off shakes and broth for three days. Now all the mucus and irritation has started acid reflux during the day. I'm hoping it goes away soon or I will be getting another unfill which depresses me because it took me a year to get my band adjusted right.
  2. When I was first adjusting my band I was getting filled too quickly with large fills. I kept getting adjusted too tight. During this time I had extreme neck and shoulder pain. This would occur especially when I ate or drank anything. Once they relieved the tightness it went away. I eventually had to get slower fills after three complete unfills. Doc finally figured out normal fills don't work for me.
  3. I was so scared I was gonna not be able to have the surgery due to fatty liver, but they did mine also on 8/29/08.
  4. Well I made it. They approved everything and I was banded 8/29/08. Good luck everybody who has to play the insurance game.
  5. I got approved through Aetna but they require BMI of 40 and 3 month supervised diet before they will approve. Sometimes they require 6 month diet if you have no 2 year medical history of issues. Good luck.
  6. I was told by my doc they do not cover them.
  7. I had been to one of his seminars about a year and a half ago and just mustered up the courage to go through with this surgery. I am using Dr. Wilkenfeld in Houston. I would like any feedback you may have. Thanks.
  8. Hi there, I have also just started my insurance journey and my doc said it will take about 5 mos before getting everything approved. How is it going now? How were the nutritionist appts. I am having my first nutritionist appt on 3/25.
  9. I have begun my insurance journey on 3/10/07. I have to go on a 3 month supervised diet and am looking forward to getting this weight off. I am 5'3" and 256 pounds. I have tried alot of diets and can never keep the weight off. I have been up to 282 and refuse to ever go there again. I am currenty back into a 24W pant and refuse to go buy any new ones. I have 2 pairs of jeans that fit, because I recently just graduated back up from a 22W. Tried doing the weight watcher thing again and that was my last straw. I watch myself put alot of stuff in my body that if I had some sort of restriction would not even be an option. I am doing this for the help to lose the weight to feel better about myself. I am sure everyone here knows exactly how I feel and I am looking forward to hearing everone's stories and advice. Thanks!
