  5. My first appt with a bariatric surgeon was cancelled because they no longer take my insurance, I was devastated!. After spending 2 hours on the computer I found a place in Chicago that takes my insurance, and I made sure they did!!! My first appt. Is Feb. 8 th. I am 50 years old, 5'10 and weigh 252.8, my BMI is 37.8. I have high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and joint pain. I am afraid of being told no. Don't know why I am feeling this way, but I do. It's something that I've wanted for the past couple years. I've done Jenny Craig, WW, and just personal dieting, losing maybe 20 pounds, but always getting frustrated and gaining is all back, then I just stop. My neice was sleeve last July and has lost 103 pounds and looks and feels fantastic. She keeps telling me to try to gain a few more pounds in this coming week to make my BMI higher. I don't know about that. Has anyone had borderline BMI had trouble getting sleeved? Or any surgery for that fact. I just don't want to be told no, I'll jump through hoops to get it done.
