Anyone else get ill before their visits to all the pre op appointments? My psych eval and dietician eval are this morning and again im sick with feeling like im going to puke and slight diahrea ( sp) . Hopefully it isnt just me :/

wow!! i wish my appointments were all done in one long day . mine is from may-august then aug 27th i get submitted to insurance. yes....write down any questions you have and take it with you . ask ask ask !!! my insurance goes by health problems, weight and bmi ( i have BCBS )

agree....it almost doesnt seem like it will be REAL until I get the approval .

im the same way. ive told a few family members, but my husband is super supportive. i was so nervous before going to my consult visit i almost got sick lol.....after the appointment i was even more sure i wanted to do this . message me anytime ....sounds like we are near the same on our journey . my 2nd visit is this week ( dietician eval & psych eval ) ive had my ups and downs in dieting as well, great while it lasts but it never does :/

Welcome!! I'm fairly new also, just now starting my journey. this place is a great place for support. I have found answers to soooooo many of my questions here. truly a great bunch of people.

OMG, since definatly deciding to go through with the lapband surgery i cant stay away ! seriously! the site was down for a while yesterday and i had withdrawels lol I am finding so so so many success stories on here it realy has inspired me and makes me hopeful that my journey will be as great. i also greatly appreciated everyone being so very honest with the bad side of it as well ( stuck etc ) . i go to my psych eval & dietician eval next week.. ok , just had to share that

good luck . i have the exact same fears lol , i know i cant get my surgery until september ( at least thats when im shooting for ) i have my list of appointments to get through first. hang in there WE CAN DO THiS

great! it is so nice to see others starting the journey . i just recently made the call & had my consultation with my dr/surgeon. im also 5'4 lol weight seems to show more on us short gals doesnt it im a momma of 3 girls all older 15-16-20 hoping my surgery will be in september of this year !! my goals -- 130 by daughters graduation in 2014 walk into victoria secret and be able to buy ANYTHING cause it fits buy a cute pair of harley davidson jeans wear a cute belt and have it show wear the dress i was married in again !! (( its a size 10-12 )) own a cute bra not from a plus size store!

had my first visit today to my dr...my consult visit. looks like my insurance does NOT have me jumping through hoops for this either ((YAY)) made appointments for my diet eval , psych eval and the behaviors-diet-exercise classes and my final review and submit to insurance appointments ......looks like my last appointment is AUGUST 27th.......so close yet sooo very far away lol super excited now!!

ok, i made the call to my local lap band surgeons office. now im nervous. waiting on the call back to verify insurance etc... i went to an initial consult about 2 years ago but then got scared after hearing of things being "stuck" and needles for filling. am i just being a big baby? im 249lbs and 5'4 and 38 yrs old.........and miserable . i know i HAVE to do something *SIGH* any input would be greatly appreciated

i have not had the band , seriously considering it though. i already once went through the dr visits,insurance bs etc....then backed out. I am considering it again, but for now i am dieting to see if i can liquid diet and handle it lol ......currentky using slim fast shakes. started last week and down 6lbs. drinking 4 a day. anyone have any suggestions or info that can help me out ? i started at 241 lbs am currently at 235, would LOVE to see 199 but for now i am setting my goal at 20 lbs (( 14 to go )) .......

thank you. glad to know im not the only one that chickened out..lol. so far im doing great on the diet. as of this morning i've lost another 1.3 lbs so YAY :smile2:

hello. i used to come here a lot when i was considering the LAP-BAND®. but after 5 month of dr visits, check up,inital visit , i chickened out . so.... not sure if im going to do it still but i just started back on the pre op-ish diet i was on before ( with dr approval ) sugar free Jello cups,popcicles,slimfast shakes,greensalads (no dressing or i use SMALL amount of white vinegar ) ,hot tea w/ splenda, sugar free mixes to add to Water...LOTS of water , low fat yogurt also :smile2: i started this monday April 5th 2010 , i am down 6.1 lbs so far !! so , i guess while i am "deciding" i can get the feel of it & lose weight. oh, i am also using my Wii at home for my workouts . running,free step,etc

my PCP knows what i am doing and says it is ok. all my bloodwork is great , and ......if i REALLY want something ( we went for pizza for my DH's bday ) i eat it

lol , nope. no food. just slim fast shakes 4xs day ( equals 800 cal) and the occasional pop cicle ( 50c each ) have went from 240.4 to 232 so far :wink2:

hello all. i am on my 6 month wait and have to see my PCP monthly. my start weight at my 1st visit with my lap band dr. was 240.4 i am now 232 as of july 30th......... i am doing on my own ( dr. knows ) slim fast optima shakes 4x's a day and LOTS of Water. also if i feel "munchy" i eat a low cal-low sugar popcile(yum) i feel GREAT and by doing this i KNOW i can do the lap band :biggrin: i dont miss solid food at ALL :biggrin:

:thumbup: had my 2nd monthly PCP visit yesterday. ....4 more to go ......lost a bit more. on the down side i had to cancel my psych and dietician appts due to lack of $..........argh!!!!:w00t: so i am back on the list for those appointments....:drool:....but hey.....i see it as i have at LEAST 4 more months to get it done :tt1: trying to keep positive !:thumbup: Wish me Luck

Talk about EASY ! i sat there for 15 minutes talking about what to cut out , why do i want this etc..... got my weight and BP and height taken and recorded . ok i made it through hurdle #2.....lol:thumbup: Dr. consult is OVER..phew i have to say when i pulled into the parking lot i had to sit in my van for a good 10 minutes.......i started shaking and thought i was going to throw up i was so nervous.:smile2: i probably looked like a madwoman sitting there talking to myself....lol finally talked myself out of panic and went in...... i think i was the only patient in there at that time ....... i signed in , then was taken to a room where i had to watch a video and as it went if i had questions i coud type them into the computer..... that done i had to go back up front and let them know i was done........they printed out my ?'s and took me back to wait for the dr. the nurse came in and talked to me for a few minutes.........got weighed , my neck & belly./middle measured , got my vitals taken...... told her about this site ( they tell pple in the seminar that OH is a great site, personally i like oh but as for informative i LOVE this one ) they are going to check this site out now :mad: so , then the dr. comes in and says hello and goes over questions and shows me the band /port........... after that was done i headed out to see his assistant...... my job now is to call my PCP and set up my 6 month supervised weight loss deal for Indiana state law ( SUCKS! ).....but hey , i figure whats 6 months.....i can do this so i guess all in all i freaked over nothing....everythings good..........i am so READY they are supposed to call me for my next appt. with the dietician ......... that is so true........ i remember my boyfriend in high school wore as much eyeliner as i did.......lol those really WERE the good days :biggrin:

well here is what RSD/CRPS is RSD = Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy CRPS = Complex Regional Pain Syndrome chronic neurological syndrome characterized by: severe burning pain pathological changes in bone and skin excessive sweating tissue swelling extreme sensitivity to touch RSDSA :: welcome American RSDHope in my case i never had RSD/CRPS until about 3 years ago (approx. ) i was walking across the street ( my parents live across the road ) with an OLD thick crystal glass in my hand.....walking home. i fell ( ankle gave way AGAIN ) the glass broke and sliced into my palm..........they say i lost over 2 pnts of blood at the scene.......severed an artery and the nerves in my hand. due to an incompetent dr. ( the hand sr on duty was to "busy " to go to the er to check it out ) i was stitched up and sent home............ after 2 weeks ( yeah...OUCH!) i went to my appointment ...............after much arguing i saw a different dr ( who i LOVE ...he is awesome ) long story short..........3 hand surgeries, a nerve graft lots of therapy i am disabled, cant feel my dominant hand and now most of my right foot (due to graft ) i have rsd/crps in my hand,shoulder,foot,ankle.............. the websites i included can give all sorts of info on it.
