  2. Thank you =) My parents seemed to be supportive before and then had a change of heart after I guess. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  3. My "friends and family" on FB are talking about me to my parents as to how I post updates on my weight loss and such every week. They told my parents that they are about to block me because they think I cheated the system by getting this surgery. My parents are snubbing me as well. Why can't I just get support on this? I was sleeved on 12/22 so it's not like I can change my mind now. Besides why would I want to change my mind on bettering myself? OMG this frustrates me to no end. My dad will say if you had just run before then you wouldn't have been obese and needed this surgery. My mom will look at what I eat now and say if you had just ate like this before surgery then you would have fixed the problem a while ago. My highest weight was 270. It was 253 when I got the surgery. It is 223 now just 4 week later! I had chronic gastritis. I had GERD. My heart was starting to harden in 1 of the chambers. I have 2 heart murmurs. My family is well known for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, and other things. Did they just want me to wait until I died?? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  4. Update to my original post. I called the person that was on the letter and she told me since that letter (dated 1/10/2017) they have received all the rest of the information they apparently needed and will cover my surgery!!! I am VERY happy about this!! ???????? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

  10. Thank you! I will call my Dr. I'm trying to get other sources of Protein through food. I would really like to actually eat nuts and things like that but I'm not cleared for that yet. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  11. Thank you! The Vitamin patch sounds interesting! I will look into that. I need something. There is no other way to get that Flintstones vitamin down. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  12. I was sleeved 12/22. I've had such a hard beginning including not being able to get my Protein in, having a hard time getting Water in, and couldn't get my Vitamins in without vomiting. I had to have a 1 week post Op appointment due to not feeling good at all. I was put on carafate 4 times daily, an acid reflux medication, and an anti-nausea medication. I lost 17 pounds the 1st week because I was very dehydrated and couldn't do anything about it. My Dr said if I waited until after the weekend I would've been in the ER for dehydration. I started eating more ice and trying to get some type of protein in for the 2nd week after surgery. I ate more popsicles. The 2 week appointment went a lot better and I was released for pureed and soft foods for 2 weeks. I just finished my 1st week of the soft foods. I absolutely HATE food!! I seem to only be able to eat fish and shrimp. I've eaten chicken and I don't really like it too much. I've eaten pork, not too good either. I am sitting here after eating chili and I wish I didn't even have to eat that. I am still very dehydrated. I started work again last Thursday and I was a mess. Last Friday when I worked I didn't pee not once!! I'm there for over 8 hours. My urine is orange almost all day. I feel weak. I feel nauseous. I tey to get the carafate in but I get really sick from it. I've talked to my Dr numerous times but they are starting to be at a loss since it's been so hard for me. I'm just over 3 weeks in and have lost 30 pounds. Does anyone else have the same experience? I really don't want to eat at all. Is this normal? Will I feel like I want to eat ever again? TIA!!! 14. There is definitely a period before she started the every minute sentence. She was referring you to Pat yourself on the back every minute of every day. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  15. OK thank you very much! Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  16. They I guess just sold this claim because GEHA is still my insurance company. It is crazy. GEHA is connected with United Healthcare. They are supposed to be the best due to my husband working for the federal government. It is nuts that I come all this way and I do qualify for this surgery and they try to yank everything away from me. I've already had the surgery so now I have a big fat bill to go with it. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  17. I was sleeved on 12/22. I have GEHA Insurance which is Federal insurance. I jumped through hoops and did everything I needed to do for this surgery. I got my pre approval letter in before my surgery. I had the surgery done and here I am thinking how wonderful my insurance is! I get a letter in the mail today from Conifer Health Solutions stating that GEHA transferred my $54,000 claim to them last minute and they decided to DENY MY CLAIM!!! This is all I need after a major surgery. Please if anyone is going through something like this please help me! I am having to look at bankruptcy because this costs half my house!! Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  18. ^^ I can't tolerate anything with taste either. I have to have plain Water. I even tried crystal light. It's hard! I throw it all up. I just eat ice all day instead to help with the dehydration. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  19. My Dr said if my liver didn't shrink to where he needed it then when they do surgery and can't keep the liver up they WILL cut you from your breast bone to your belly button. Keep that in mind. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  20. I don't like the taste of Vitamins either. I did get the regular ones and split them in half and take them 1 by 1. I did that once and I threw it up. I will tell you when it came back up it tasted just like the damn chewables!! I just couldn't win on that!! Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  21. For some reason I couldn't shake the pain. I couldn't shake the pain from my c section either though so maybe I just can't deal with pain well. I biggest pain was the stitch in the muscle on your left side where the stomach comes out of. I actually decided to watch the surgery on the Internet before I had it. I don't recommend that unless you are good with that stuff. LOL! Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  22. I feel nauseous everyday. I started solids 1 week ago. I can't eat eggs without getting sick. Try fish or Beans or chicken instead. I am tired of fish and shrimp now because that's all I eat. You can try yogurt and some cheeses. They have Protein. This stage is the worst in my mind because it's difficult to find out what really works for you. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  23. I couldn't get ANY Protein in. I would throw it up. I was like that for 2 weeks. The first few days are the hardest and I was told to TRY but most likely I wouldn't hit that number until after a few days or so. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  24. I couldn't drink any Protein. I'm 3 weeks po and since I was so dehydrated the 1st week my Dr told me not to worry about protein at all. Everyone and every Dr is different! It would be good to try to get protein in if you can. I would throw everything up except for Water and sugar free popsicles. For 2 weeks that's all I ate no freaking lie. I don't suggest that though. LOL! When you hit the pureed stage it gets a little bit easier though! Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  25. Did you take a before picture? I took a before pic and a pic at 2 weeks po and I see a huge difference in my face and stomach! Muscle usually weighs 2 to 3 pounds where fat weighs 1 pound. Keep that in mind too since you are walking more. I hope this helps. Don't get discouraged. You have a smaller stomach that will only allow you to fit a small bit in it. Eventually that will catch up with your body. This has been a huge shock to your system. I'm in no means an expert btw since I'm only 3 weeks po right now. But like everyone else said if it's not budging now it will very soon and you will be like wow!!! My Dr told me not to worry about the weight. She even gave me her "you better not get on that scale" face! LOL Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
