    Any June Sleevers!?!

I did pretty good during the day. It was when I got home I started to falter. My sweet husband made some grilled shrimp and steamed veggies. So I was good. Now this morning is a little different. I was in no mood for a protein shake but I drank it and a couple bottles of water.

I guess we are in this thing together. Are you all set for your surgery? I think I have finished jumping through all the insurance hoops.

    Just starting out and scared

Hi Debbie, I am almost exactly in the same situation you are. I turned 50 in the Fall and finally made the decision to do the Gastric Sleeve. It seems my health is getting worse every year. I went to my first consultation. The folks in the Bariatric Clinic were amazing. I didn't feel judged. When I left they gave me a list of "to dos". The first thing was to get a sleep Study. I wasn't sure I needed that but I did it. When I got the results I was shocked. I have been diagnosed with Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Basically I stop breathing in my sleep!!! I did it like 97 times in one hour! So I continued with that process and now I am the proud owner of a CPAP machine. It's not sexy but I'm not interested in suffocating myself. I am in my first week with it and it has been quite the transition. There are several more steps to take, but so far I am learning how I have not been taking care of myself. This process is not easy but based on feedback I have received, it is so worth. "You'll wish you had done it sooner". Do this for you. You deserve it.
