  1. 4 days for me. My program has you on solids by day 4. It has to be chewed down to puree, but as long as it has no seeds, and skin free, I can eat it.
  2. I know about as much as you do, which is why I asked as well
  3. There is a Facebook group for March surgeries?
  4. How are people doing? I'm 4 days post op, came home after 2 days, had solids today (my programs have you on solids by day 4, but it has to be chewed to puree) I had horrible gas pain at first, but that is almost over. I have gotten a sinus infection on top of recovery, but slowly getting better. I'm down 6.6 lbs since surgery, 19 lbs total since March 6th.
  5. Surgery was on Monday, came home yesterday. Have ended up with a sinus infection, so not feeling too good, but working my way through it. Water intake has improved since I got home. My program has you on to solids (that you have to chew until puree) by day 4, so I'm already on yogurt, creamy soups, even had a babybell cheese. Down 2.4kg /5lbs since surgery
  6. It's 7pm for me. I'm already at the hospital, surgery at 8am tomorrow. Good luck everyone
  7. My surgery date is 3/20 and I feel like it's slowly skipping away. Since last Friday I ha e had a cold. No sore throat, no headaches, joint pain, fever or anything like that. Just a little coughing and congested. Trying to blow my nose and get all the phlegm up, but I'm slowly running out of time. I don't want it to get postponed, who knows when I'm get another date. There is a 3 month waiting list at least.
  8. That's actually hilarious ???
  9. Thank you! Yeah, getting lots of fluids, and have started on my bariatric vitamins. First to see if I can tolerate them before I order more, and to try and get better.
  10. 6 days until surgery, and I have a cold. Scared they'll say we'll have to postpone if I don't get well enough.
  11. Surgery in just 6 days, and of course I have a cold. So scared I won't get well enough, and they'll have to postpone.
  12. I gained some after my initial appointment (I have extremely bad sciatica pain, so no movement and feeling sorry for myself is not a good combination) , so I'm already trying to get down as much as possible. We don't get a specific diet, just to cut back on fat, and make sure we have 12 hours between last and first meal, it gives the liver a better chance of getting smaller. They want us to try and loose 3-5kg. (about 6-10 lbs) I'm down just over 8 lbs since Monday, I need another 7 to get down to initial weight. More than that will be awesome, but not really realistic.
  13. I think you are talking to me. I think it was because they have to do a antibody test the day before. Normally you can come on the day of, at 0630.
  14. Mine is March 20th. At first it was April 18th, but then someone canceled and I was able to get their date. They called me on Tuesday, right after I had left the hospital after my last pre-op appointment. I went straight to the insurance company, and they approved me there and then. So excited. I'm getting admitted on the 19th.
  15. I was also set on the sleeve, but because of heartburn, (not a lot), he wouldn't do it. I'm either having the Mini Gastric Bypass or the Gastric Bypass. My surgeon will decide once he looks inside. I have scar tissue from earlier abdominal surgery, so he is going to see which one would be better.
  16. Mind if I join you guys. I was suppose to have my surgery on April 18th, but they called me today and said they had an opening on March 20th, so only 13 days away. Went to the insurance company straight away, and got approved then and there. I'm so nervous, but mostly exciting.
  17. I'm April 18th, so just two days before you.
  18. I think it also depends on which procedure you are getting. Mine won't do lap-and, in fact he is doing a lot of conversions on those these day.
  19. I agree. I don't have diabetes. I have had back surgery, have high cholesterol and arteritis in both my knees. I have jojo’ed all my life and my back can’t take me gaining more weight.
  20. @@gryffen Thanks for the reply. That is a long process. I'm Norwegian, and the process there is a very long one was well, similar to Scotland. You need referals and classes as well. I was surprised that it went so quickly here in Austria.
  21. So I’m located in Austria, and it’s interesting to see how different the process to getting the surgery is here compared to the US. I called the surgeon in November and got an appointment on January 5th. A 5 week wait. I was there, we talked, and he approved me for the fast track. He didn't recomment the sleeve, but the bypass or the mini bypass. He said he could decide which once he looks inside if I can't decide which one I want. He called the following Monday and told me my surgery date is April 18th. Now my process really starts. I have 2 appointment days at the hospital, one day is to see a nutritionist, a physical therapist and a psychologist. Before the next appointment day I need to have the following done. Lung X-ray (cleared by my pulmonologist, I have asthma) Blood work Colonoscopy And something I can’t remember at the top of my head. The second day at the hospital is with the surgeon and the anaesthetist. That is about 6 weeks before the surgery. Once I am cleared by all of them, I take my papers and go to the insurance company, which isn’t really like the US.* They will then look at the papers and weigh and measure me, and I should get an answer within 2 week. I don’t have to lose 10% of my body weight, only 3-5kg. Also, I can’t lose more as I risk the insurance saying no because I’m borderline on the BMI. Insurance pay if BMI is over 40. Min was 40.04 when I saw the doctor on January 5th. Once I have gotten OK from everyone, I just have to wait and lose those 3-5kg. I can also ask to be on waitlist to get in sooner. Which I plan to do. * Healthcare in Austria is universal for residents of Austria as well as those from other EU countries. Individuals become automatically insured when employed, receiving unemployment benefits, on pensions, or works for government. Family members who are dependent are also entitled to healthcare up until adulthood, or upon finishing education. Care involving private insurance plans (sometimes referred to as "comfort class" care) can include more flexible visiting hours, occupying a private room, and receiving care from a private doctor.
