  1. Congrats - your journey is just beginning.....ricotta - for now just put some good marinara on top of a layer of ricotta and microwave to heat and it is yummy.... later on when you add in meat you can put some frozen soy crumbles (in the freezer section by the vegetarian burgers etc) under the cheese and you have a great fake protein rich lasagna. This is a comfort food and you will love it. And I think Suzanne Somers or South Beach make some kind of dessert with ricotta.... I 'll have to explore that. Well take it slow with adding in the real food and keep the proteins #1. We'll be cheering you on! Sue PS - I love ricotta  - cottage cheese is :cursing: YUK
  2. I am now down 45.5 pounds and I feel great - more energy, some old favorite jeans are now getting too big....how awesome too big for me....I love tossing too big clothes into my bag for goodwill. I hope you all feel as happy as I do!
  3. I had my first fill today - I didn't feel a thing - it was over in seconds. Dr Haag gave me 3cc in my AP-L band and told me that I should know within a week if I have restriction and that I can come back right away if I am still feeling starved. I feel fine tonight - but I am only on liquids today - tommorow he told me to have some mushies and see how it goes. He was very happy with my weight loss up to now. What an adventure this is and it sure is fun to share it with all of you!
  4. Great idea. I am so happy with my weight loss so far and with how I feel. I feel like a new person allready. I have more energy and I can tie my shoes without losing my breath. This is one of the best things that I have ever done for ME.
  5. I was banded by Dr Haag on 3-21-208. It was a great experience - I do not even remember leaving the room where they prepped me for surgery. At PVSA I think they have a very busy office and they do the best they can. I also know Dr Fiallo and think he is a very nice guy..... I feel bad that his bedside manner is not quite what you wanted. Dr Haag seems very shy actually. His jokes are quite funny. I just made my appointment for my first fill and I needed the latest in the day so I would not have to leave work and the office had no problem granting that request. I am happy overall with my care and the office and with my progress so far. I agreee that this website has a wealth of info on it - the kind of info you can only get from your peers who are or have experienced the same thing. We are lucky to have this site.
  6. I am nervous and excited - I'm all preop ready and I will be leaving for the hospital in an hour and then I will be starting a new part of my life! I could hardly sleep all night..... I am ready for this band - I am really ready to get rid of these 'fat' clothes. Being Banded 3/20/2008 @ 11 AM Dr Haag God Bless Dr Haag:thumbup:
  7. I have never heard of these protein bullets? Where do you find them. I am getting banded on Friday 3/21/08 and I am getting nervous that I won't do my post op right.

Thanks for the good wishes - I sent my granddaughter home with a bag full of goodies from my house tonight - popcorn and chocolates - tommorow I will clean out the fridge.... and then I'll tackle the house so I too will be all set - my daughter is going to be my helper after surgery. I will be thinking of you on the 19th!
  10. I will take that to be a lucky day for me then.... and I did tell all the girls at wrokd today because they are going to find out and talk trash about me anyway.... or maybe they won't - hopefully they will be happy for me - I am so excited! Happy early birthday!
  11. I got my call tonight that my insurance said YES - and its a go to be banded on March 21st. I called my best friend from work to let her know and I know I will just tell everyone - I do have a big mouth....and big butt LOL quite a few people where I work have had the lap band and most people are really supportive - there are always a few poo-poos in every crowd. I am so excited!

I got my call tonight that my insurance said YES and she asked me if next Friday the 21st would be too soon for me to be banded - I said not to soon for me - I was rejected last May so finally my journey will begin. I will begin my protein drinks tommorow. I am excited and nervous - I will be a hot mama at my daughters wedding June 2009 - can't let her stepmothers (x2) look better than this older sexier chick - ME! I wish you the best and I will be thinking of you and say a prayer for success for us all!
