  1. I'm scheduled for surgery on 1/9, and I'm trying to get a handle on what kinds of complications people have been seeing. I know for the most part everyone is happy with their results even if they've had complications; I'm just wondering what minor and major issues are potentially on the horizon -- and if, in the long run, virtually everyone has some issues. Those of you who have had the band for years, please post too! Thanks much
  2. Anyone know why some women miss their period after surgery?
  3. OK, this is going to sound strange, but did anyone wear underwear during surgery? It's going to be that time of the month for me and I'm wondering how to handle it.
  4. Hi Valhallagirl! I think my surgeon is unique, or relatively so, in that he puts everyone pre-op on a liquid diet the 2 weeks before the surgery. He says it shrinks the liver, which is right over the stomach, making the surgery easier and allowing for fewer complications. His complication rate is very low, so maybe he's on to something :-) We should keep tabs on each other, as it seems we're starting roughly the same place, wanting to end roughly the same place (adjust me up 10 lbs. for the years I have on you), and surgery ont he same date!
  5. Thanks for your help, Eileen! I think I got the ticker right. The only challenge with the liquids is knowing that everything will change after the surgery. And, of course, dealing with a stretched stomach after Christmas dinner!
  6. Hmmm. That didn't work. How about this? <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/"> <img border="0" src="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/3;10708;4;0;1/c/260/t/140/s/260/k/029e/weight.png"></a>
  7. I've never used a ticker. How does this thing work? http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/3;10708;4;0;1/c/260/t/140/s/260/k/029e/weight.png
  8. I'm getting geared up for surgery here, scheduled on 1/9/06, but my dr has me on a pre-op liquid diet starting 12/26. So Christmas day is my last "official" day of eating as I have been my whole life! I'm excited and scared at the same time. Anyone else here have Dr. Quebbeman in Huntington Beach as their doctor?
