  1. Yes, the site seems to be a mess tonight. I'm glad things went well on your first day
  2. Kathy - I hope all went well today. Renewed - Gettin' out already. WOW. Take it easy. Tootie - Awesome - you finished a 5k There's nothing like watching my DS soccer game with temps at 35 degrees and the wind blowing. Tonight was the last game of the season. They finished up with a 7-3-1 record. Pretty good for our first season. We are expecting snow tomorrow. BRRRRrrr...
  3. I think we get comfortable with the band and start sneaking back to some of our old habits. If we keep with the band rules and remember how we got to our pre-band spot in the first place we will do okay. Good luck.
  4. Kathy - Good luck tomorrow on your first day back into the working world.
  5. My doc says liquids then soft foods then real food, taking about a week in all after a fill. My SIL doc says real foods. What does your doc recommend. I always thought the liquids were to help you with the swelling after a fill and reduce the risk of PBing and getting food stuck?
  6. Renewed - WOW you are already posting. Congrats on you 1 year Bandaversary. You look absolutely great. Prayers for a quick recovery. We went to Charleston for DS soccer tournament. They played so well, however, they lost both games. 2-1 for both games. Most of the boys on the other teams were big 8th graders. Our team is mostly 6th graders. We lost in overtime the 2nd game. We had a great time though. When we were at the hotel, DH and I went to the fitness center. I RAN on the treadmill. I was not dressed to run. I was in jeans and a long sleeve shirt (It was cold at the soccer game) and I do not think there was any air conditioning in that little room. I thought I would die of heat. I ran and walked for 15 minutes and then rode the exercise bike for a while. DH and I have decided to get a treadmill soon. Any suggestions on brands? Also, my SIL just got her first fill. Her doc told her that she did not have to do liquids after her fill. I have always heard and been told that you have to do liquids and then soft foods before you go back to normal foods. What does your doc tell you?
  7. Renewed - Best of luck tomorrow!!! I'll check in on you on Saturday. I'll be away from the computer - Soccer Tournament Remember you have come "Full Circle"
  8. Renewed - I just wanted to stop in quick and say GOOD LUCK tomorrow!!! I'll check in on you Saturday evening. I am packing for the soccer tournament. We leave tomorrow after lunch for a cold and probably rainy weekend. GO MCA!!! Lyn - I am sorry that you did not get the job. I am glad that you have a good attitude.
  9. aclubb & Gerogia - WTG!!! I am so proud of you both sticking with it and working hard. Kathy- great news!!! It is weird not being able to post in the middle of the day. As a teacher (school librarian) having the summers off, I know. Renewed - I will be out of town on Friday afternoon and Saturday. DS has a soccer tournament in Charleston. I want to give you lots of well wished now since we have a relatively busy week. I will probably be back on this thread, but you never know. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
  10. Lyn - I am sorry it did not work out today, but I am glad you are not defeated. Your granddaughter is right, there will be other events and you will not get DQ'd.
  11. Pumpkin farms are so fun. We took our youth group to a local pumpkin farm owned by one of our church families two weeks ago. We had a blast. We cooked hotdogs over the bonfire, hayride, corn maize, we played a few games too. The weather was just right. Speaking of youth, my DS has a stomach ache this morning. I hope it is not the stomach flu. I think we will have to miss church this morning. DH will go by himself. DH misses alot of Wednesday night church because of work. Have a wonderful day.
  12. Lyn - I am so sorry. I now you are so ready for tomorrow's run. Maybe you could go in the morning and explain that this is your first run and you did not know the policy. Beg if you have to. Maybe they will feel sorry for you. After all, you are registered. Good Luck!
  13. lyn - good luck on your run tomorrow Kathy - children a full of wonderful suprises. Keep the sweet stories coming.
  14. Renewed - you need to fit a date night in before surgery. It will be awhile before you are up to having a little extra activities. :tongue_smilie:
  15. Renewed - Your DH is probably right. You body needs some rest for the big day. A nice long walk with your family might fit the bill. It is beautiful here in WV with the changing leaves. God sure knows how to paint a picture. Hubby and I actually had a date night last night. Our plans were to take a walk at a nearby park to enjoy the fall colors and do dinner. It rained, so we did dinner and rented a movie.
  16. Renewed and Georgia - Thank you for making me feel part of the group. Since I have not been exercising, I have just been lurking on this thread just to keep up with my lapband buddies. I really enjoy the encouragement. You might notice that I did take the "WANNABE" off my signature and put "On Vacation" on. You girls pray that I can take that off soon. If I am not going to be a participant in exercise, at least I can be a cheerleader. Georgia - 30 minutes straight is awesome!!!! Double Awesome!!!! Renewed - You are in my prayers for PS this week. I am so excited for you. You will have come full circle. Kathy - I am so glad that you are back to running. Your mind is made up to be a runner. It is okay to take a short break every now and then. GO TEAM!!!
  17. Kathy - don't slow down now. Concentrate on being the healthiest you can be so when you get that job, you will feel great emotionally and physically. I have slowed down and practically stopped. I do not feel as good as I did when I was exercising on a regular basis.
  18. Just to let you know girls - I got back on my horse and ran yesterday. YEEHAW!!! I asked my family to go on a nice fall walk last night and I ended up running part of it. I am not saying that I am back on track with C25K, but I did get out there and move.
  19. Did anyone see the Biggest Loser tonight? Jerry the father on the yellow team went home tonight. Did you happen to see his "after pictures" OMG he has changed. He came to the ranch weighing 380, left at 360 and is now down to 310. He was on all types of medicine. The weight was slowly killing him. And now he is running 1 1/2 miles. Here I am - I jumped off the wagon because I could not get past week 4 after my varicose vein surgery. Boy, he kicked my butt. I need to get in gear and get back on track. I sort of like the idea of just adding an extra minute on each run. My lungs know the intervals help. I have much more lung power than ever before, but I have been at a stand still for quite some time. I am getting back on my horse this week (well, pony)
  20. Kathy - great job!!! luluc - good luck on Saturday, you will do great!
  21. I feel like my legs have been stuck 100 times. I went to the docs and had sclerotherapy (shots in the small varicose veins) I have to wear those crazy support hose during the day for 5 days. I guess when all this is done, my legs will look smokin' hot!!! You girls have a great running day, I'll catch up to you later.
  22. I can't believe that today is my 6 month BANDaversary!!!! I see the leg doctor today. I hope to be back in the swing of things soon. Have a great day girls!!!
  23. SugarBean commented on minpinmom's blog entry in Blogin along
Minipin - I have a cousin in Sugarland, TX. They had mild damage and no power until late Thursday night. My DH and I lived in the panhandle of FL for a while. We remember the get togethers to grill all the meat before it went bad. It was nice to actually have time to sit with your neighbors. Hurricaines and Tropical Storms sure slow the pace of life down for a while.
  24. Mamato - Happy Birthday! and yes, I do need to post and exercise more often. Actually, I go back to the leg doctor on Wednesday. He will do sclerotherapy (injections to get rid of small varicose veins) on both of my legs. They will feel better faster than the surgery for the big veins that put my running to a halt. Once I get over this, I do want to get back on track with my running. I am not that far from my 100 pound mark, then 5 more pounds to Onederland!! Exercise will get me there much quicker. Thank you for the encouragement. Life since school has started has been extremely busy. DS is playing middle school soccer (3 -1 record) and busy playing Fall Festival's with the bluegrass band. Thank the Lord I only have one child.
  25. EbonyRose - I am a rule follower. I really watch what I eat and I am pretty faithful to exercise. If it is gonna be, it is up to me!
