  1. It seems that this has been the week for a fill. My scale has finally started moving again Yahoooo!!! I have been pretty much at a stand still for about 6-8 weeks, so I was glad to get a fill. Kathy - I ran/walked as soon as I got home from work(school). I put a roast in the crockpot this morning, DH had off today so he added the potatoes and carrots this afternoon. So I did not have to worry about cooking dinner when I got home. DS (12 next month) ran with me, well I should say that we went at the same time. He walks to the top of the hill with me and then he is off. I pass him when he is on his way back home. So he runs the whole mile and a half. We go 3/4 a mile and then turn around. (Right before the big house with the big dog) You just started working again. You'll fall into a schedule that works for you. Renewed - I'm sure hubby likes the new you.
  2. Another 30 minute walk/run. I ran several short intervals and ended with a 1/2 mile straight run and then a cool off walk. (I took those crazy hose off, that made it easier) Hope everyone is doing well.
  3. Whew, Kathy that sounds like an awful experience. I am glad that your band is more back to normal. My fill seems to be working well. I can tell that I have good restriction. I am not eating near as much as I did before the fill. And the best thing is I am not hungry!!! I stopped in at my mother's today. She had made potato soup. I added a little extra cheese for the protein. MMmmm good. Nothing like my mom's potato soup. She even sent me home a bowl for lunch tomorrow. I could probably start eating a little solid food, but I just have not been hungry. I was 206 this morning. So close to Onderland and even closer to losing 100 pounds - just 2 more pounds!!!
  4. How's the healing going? I know you are so glad that you can get out and walk. Are you just taking a stroll with the kids, or are you walking for distance or time? Knowing you it won't be a stroll. Take Care.
  5. Whosya - You are amazing!!! 10 miles WOW!!!
  6. What a nice little twist to "Biggest Loser" tonight. It was nice to see Amy C. stand up for herself and send Brady home. Vicky will be a stinker next week to Amy C. though. I have never cared for Heba, Ed, Brady, or Vicky. Phil and Amy seemed to be good people who got the short end of the stick. Well, I am back on the move!!! I took about a 30 minute run/walk. No times, no distances. I just did my thing. I even had those crazy stockings on because I had sclerotherapy on my legs yesterday. The doctor said I need to come in late December and then wait until spring. My legs are looking so much better. They feel better too. Kathy - I see that you are on. How did your unfill work?
  7. Kingbird - Thanks for the website. I just had a fill on Friday.
  8. Kathy - I am glad you are doing better. My docs rules are liquids for 3-5 days and then soft for a few days etc.. It seems that every doctor is different.
  9. Welcome Rhapsody. You are a member of LITE, just by exercising and posting with us. I am not the one to ask for advice on running. I started about the time that Georgia and Leslie did and had varicose vein surgery and other treatments (I had one today) that have slowed me down on C25K. Also, a busy soccer season. I look forward to getting back into running. Leslie - Dollywood has grown so much over the last few years. Saturday was the first day of their Christmas season. We rode the train after dark, all the lights made is so beautiful. Dollywood is about a 4 hour drive for us. How far of a drive is it for you and Georgia? Wouldn't it be cool to meet there in the Spring. Georgia - I am 5'6" and weight 207 and carry most of my weight in my stomach. I fit very comfortably in all the rides.
  10. Kathy - what does your doc tell you your diet should be after a fill? I am on liquids for 3-5 days then soft foods. Building up as tolerated. I think chili and chicken & broccoli soup would be to much.
  11. I had my 3rd fill this past Friday. I got 1 1/4 cc fill so I have 6 1/4 cc in a 14 cc band. I was ready for this one. I was hungry all the time. I have been on liquids only. So far so good.
  12. Leslie and Georgia. WTG!!! You guys did great. Georgia under 40 minutes and Leslie and extra 2 miles. I am sure you are thinking about goals for your next race. Kathy - I hope all goes well with calming down your band. I think the tea will probably help. Warm liquids may open it up a little. I sometimes have trouble eating in the morning. I think others do to. I had my fill on Friday, I can feel restriction. YEAH! I have already lost a few pounds on liquid. We will see how it goes from here. My DH and I took our DS and 4 of his friends to Dollywood in Tennessee. I felt like a kid again. The last time I was there my DS and I got on a ride and I could not fit.:rolleyes2: This time I could fit in every ride. :laugh:Crazy me even rode an upside down roller coaster for the first time (and maybe the last) LOL. When we left to go to the parking lot there was a huge line for the tram car to take you back to the parking lot. I asked the lady about how far it was to Section C. She said about a mile. So we decided to walk. I took off running with all the boys. We had such a good time. I could have never done any of this last year. I love my band!!
  13. Welcome mominflorida. Good Luck Georgia and Leslie. I got a fill today. 1 1/4 cc. Up to 6 1/4 cc. I hope that helps me get to the 100 pound mark and then on to Onederland.
  14. WOW, WOW, WOW!!! You look wonderful!!!
  15. Just getting in the door from yet another busy day. Renewed - I am so glad to know that you are doing well. It seems like you are making a little progress everyday. I get my fill tomorrow. My SIL is going with me to Roanoke, VA. We are going to do a little shopping before my appt. Yippee!!!
  16. Kathy - We are both getting filled at the end of the week. It won't be long until we reach our 100 pound/Onderland goals. YEAH!!! Georgia & Leslie - Good Luck on your run this weekend.
  17. Here we go again with another lapband talk change. Sometimes change is good, but sometimes it drives me crazy.
  18. Kathy - Yes, we can be each others cheerleader. Kathy - 4.5 to Onederland / 11.5 to 100 pounds Gone Sugar - 12 pounds to Onderland / 7 pounds to 100 pounds Gone So 11.5 / 12 pounds and we both reach both our goals. Go Kathy, Go Sugar, Go Kathy, Go Sugar!!!
  19. Go Georgia, Go Georgia, WHOO HOO a 5k outside. Leslie - WTG I just bought "Gilad's Total Body Sculpting" DVD. I can't wait until it arrives. He is the guy from Fit TV. I am so ready for my fill on Friday. I hope there are no issues after. We are taking DS and 4 of his friends to Dollywood in TN for his 12th birthday on Saturday. His BD is not until December 8th. To many things going on in December (Church, School, Christmas, basketball) I can't wait to ride the rides. I won't worry about fitting anymore!!!! Anyway, I am so close to losing 100 pounds and not to far from Onederland. A fill and exercise should do the trick.
  20. Girl, take it easy. I know you are probably running in your sleep. Seriously, this was major surgery, take it easy and don't overdo it. REST.
  21. Krissyjean - My SIL seems to be in the same boat that you are in. Losing very slowly. She just got a fill a week ago and seems to be doing better. She is not an exerciser. Me on the other hand have done extremely well until the last month. I am stuck and at this point I can eat way more than I ever have since I have been banded. I have a fill on Friday. Boy, am I ready. I was running & exercising this summer and have completely stopped. That could be a big reason why I am not losing. I am glad that you have a good attitude, even though you are frustrated. Be patient, you will hit that sweet spot and the weight will come off. Exercise is a must.
  22. There is also the losing hair issue to with not enough Protein in your diet. Apparently because we generally eat smaller meals now that we are banded and we don't necessarily get enought protein we have the risk of thinning hair. Biotin has been a great help to me. I was losing hair like crazy until I started taking Biotin. The doc says I was not getting enough protein. They said there was nothing for me to do but eat more protein. They never mentioned Biotin. I heard about it on LBT and it has worked for me. I sound like an infomercial!!
  23. Hey girl, How are you doing today? I think it is amazing that you are out and about. Already shopping. What a trooper. You probably will have to buy some new clothes. It must be fabulous to buy single digit size clothes. Have a great weekend.
  24. I find it very interesting that so many doctors have such different advice. Not just on drinking before and after we eat. Other very different advice seems to be about the pre-op diet and also the diet after a fill. Doesn't the AMA or the lap band companies have rules that doctors should be following? Or does each doctor interpert the rules differently? Just an observation. Who knows what is right. I guess just follow your doctors advice.
  25. Georgia & Leslie- Good luck next weekend. I am so proud of you both for finishing the program. We were together back in the summer. Gosh to think if I would have been able to stick with it, I would be able to run a 5K by now. I'll get there. We are probably are going to buy a treadmill soon. I can not run outside in the winter. I get asthmatic bronchitis from the cold air every winter. Renewed - You are doing great for being out just a week. I can't believe you are able to drive already. You are amazing!!! Being physically fit probably has alot to do with it. Kathy - It is nice to be treated like the rest of the world. There is really a big difference in how people treat you when you wear a size 26-28 and how they treat you as a size 18-20. It will be even better when I am much smaller. But I do think it has alot to do about how we preceive ourselves. I have much more confidence and better self esteem now. Mamato - Hello, I see you. I hope all is going well. Well now that soccer season is over, I came home and crashed. I slept for two hours. Hubby even cooked. We have just been so busy and we live out in the boonies so we always have more travel time than anyone else. Have a good Friday!!! Go Phillies!!! Yahooooo!!! World Series Champions!!!
