  1. I'm glad I came across your post! I too am a food addict. I'm an emotional eater, food is my best friend, my diary, my companion. The love affair ends December 21st and while I'm not concerned about the surgery, I AM concerned that I may have some time of separation anxiety. Most people would laugh at that - I'm sure most of you will understand. I live in a house of "foodies". 2 boys (18/16) and my boyfriend. We legitimately enjoy our food. I worry that after the surgery, I am going to be faced with hard times managing my wants to eat with them.
  2. Yayy - congrats! Good for you!
  3. What a great idea! I would love to join this group! I am scheduled for 12/21. Having my preadmission testing tomorrow and starting my liquid diet Monday! When is your surgery? People who know think I'm crazy having this done RIGHT before xmas but heck - no time like the present! LOL this is the best time of year with work that I can take time off - besides, I figured the winter is a good time to bundle up and loose weight and when spring/summer rolls around, I'm "ready" ! SUPER excited, can you tell!?

  5. OMG Congrats! You're going to do great! Sending you good VIBES! Please keep us posted!
  6. So - I am 13 days pre-surgery and I'm super excited! However, I am encountering a lot negative people when I tell them about my plans for surgery. "ohhh you don't need that"; "why don't you just diet"; "people have died doing that you know!?" I am usually an open book and had no intentions of keeping my surgery a secret however, I now I'm second-guessing myself. Anyone else encountering the insensitive side of others? How are you dealing?
