  3. I am on the 27th. R u on a liquid diet? Really hard to find good food to drink. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App Are you doing a clear liquid diet? Only thing I found I liked was sugar free popsicles (the ones of a stick that would melt clear) and chicken broth. Not from a can, though. That was disgusting lol. Find some chicken granules in little baggies or something that you mix in with hot Water. Those are Much better. Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sure hope o get that, otherwise I might not be able to go through with it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Not sure if you've already had yours or not. But if not, they will give you something for your nerves once you get your iv. Just ask for it I have extremely horrible anxiety, so you can imagine how I was. They gave me something and I was all giggly and wasn't a bit nervous lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. I just started taking my stool softeners yesterday. I'm gonna take extra and also some natural vegetable laxatives that my surgeon said was okay. I had horrible constipated prior to the surgery anyway Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Oh no I'm glad you were finally able to go. Being constipated is miserable. How are you feeling? I'm still very sore and nauseous and dealing with the gas. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I still have allot of pain from my main left incision, but otherwise I feel pretty good, thanks for asking You're welcome ! 12. Thank you! I've been using the strips and walking quite a bit how much Protein and Water are you able to get in? I don't get nauseous often. I just sometimes get intense nausea out of no where for like 2-3 min and then it's gone. Is your chest sore at all? I have to hunch over when I walk because if I stand up straight, it pulls all the muscles in my stomach which are really sore. This may be what's made my stomach sore. Plus I've been dealing with a remaining cough from a cold I had like a month ago. Thanks for the motivation at the end! That made me smile and realize that we really are so close to a week out feel free to message me so that me can keep in touch ! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Thank you! 13. I just mean tight when I stand up because my stomach hangs so it feel like it's being pulled or tugged at, making it feel right. But yes I am walking quite a bit Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I just took the basics. Phone, charger, pajamas, socks and underwear (which I didn't end up using either) they gave me socks there and wearing underwear can be difficult after because of the incisions. But since you're going home the same day, I would just take your phone, charger, gas x strips, pajamas (I chose big baggy night gowns( a cpap if you use one, and anything else you think you'll need As far as the vitamins go, I'm honestly not sure. I don't start mine until week two and my mom bought them all for me. Ask your surgeon exactly which vitamins and doses you need and they should tell you for my stage one, I'm doing water, premier Protein Shakes and chicken broth. Good luck !!! 16. I'm 4 days post op and feel miserable. My stomach is tight and has lots of pressure. My chest hurts (maybe from gas idk) and I'm nauseous. Some people say this is normal because I just had a major surgery but then some say theyre already back to normal by now. So I'm getting scared Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Sorry if this is tmi. I'm 4 days post op. I had a bowel movement the morning of the surgery, but nothing since. I have had 2 moments where I felt like I needed to go, but it was just gas that was difficult to pass. How long did it take you guys to have your first bowel movement after surgery ? Thank you. 18. 1. There will be pain, but not as bad as what you think. And Even if you are, chances are good you won't remember it. Apparently I complained about chest pains so much in recovery that they did an EKG on me (which was fine, thank God!!) but I barely remember any of that. The first day was the easiest actually because I had a pain pump and was still groggy from the anesthesia. The second day was a bit worse since I didn't have my pain pump and the anesthesia had worn off. It still was bearable. Today is my third day, I'm a bit nauseous and my chest is hurting. Not sure if it's from the gas or a hiatal hernia repair. It sucks, but again, is bearable. One of the hardest things is getting your Water and protein in. 2. No one knows if you will get one. This was a huge worry of mine as well. They should give you some white stockings (super tight knee socks) which help prevent them and they also hooked mine up to a machine that massages them to keep the blood flowing. But the main thing is to get up and walk at least every 4 hours.this helps get rid of the gas and prevent blood clots. 3. What do you mean? Like a bag to pack or your medicine or? 4. Unfortunately, your mouth will be extremely dry. My lips were sticking to my teeth lol. But, they gave me swab sticks with something on it that moistens them. As soon as you pass your leak test, you can get ice chips! If you want your phone or tablet, bring Those along with the chargers. You can also bring a book, night gowns, GAS X STRIPS!! (Although wait until after your leak test to take these) and maybe some house shoes or chopstick. I found that I over packed a bit. I took sock and panties and didn't need any of it. Hope this helps. Good luck on your journey. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Water has always been my favorite, so I'm not sure. It hurts even when I don't take a drink. I'm thinking it's the gas because it a gurgling, rumbling, burn type of feeling Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Thank you. I've been doing gas x strips and walking but it's not really getting rid of the gas. It's like a burning, gurgling, gassy type of feelings. Happens whether I take a drink or not. I also had a major hiatal hernia repair as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I had a chest cold about a month before my surgery and my cough still lingers. Use your binder if you have one but also hold a pillow a bit tight over your stomach when you cough and it help tremendously!! Good luck with everything Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Mine was on the 14th. It hurts my chest when I take a drink. Not sure if it's the gas or what. And I'm also a bit nauseous and my stomach is very sore. How's everyone doing? I'm struggling to get in enough Water and Protein Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I'm nauseous too. Is is even safe for us to vomit? I just feel like that would mess something up Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. I've been using the strips but they're not helping as much as they do for others and I walk but it doesn't get rid of the pain either. I burp every now and then and it helps for a second but that's it. Does it hurt you guys when you get up to walk? For me, my stomach feels heavy and sore and then my biggest incision that my stomach came out of feels pulled at. It's bearable, but I stand for 5-10 minutes and need to sit back down again. I'm assuming that maybe I'm just still wore out from a major surgery but idk Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I'm on day 3 of my recovery. The gas pains still hurt me in the chest and back, and I'm a bit nauseous from trying to sip enough Water and also take my pills. Learning how to take pills again is a real challenge and I struggling to get my water in as well. I'm terrified I'll get dehydrated and need IV fluids. I'm trying to prevent that, it's very hard to drink enough though! I hope it gets better for you soon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
