  1. Mine took a little over a month to be approved but that's because they couldn't find anyone to review my records because I'm an employee. Only certain people have access to my records so they kept being passed around, it was a mess! I believe the normal turn around time is about 2 weeks. Once I finally got my papers in the rights hands I had an answer in 3 days.
  2. I actually never said I was vegan or vegetarian, I am a pescetarian. I don't eat land animals. I'm nervous about telling my surgeon because they talked Protein protein protein SO much in my nutrition class. I'm afraid I can't convince him that I will get my protein in, without the help of animals. I did finally get a surgery date though, 4/16 and I go back to see my dr. on the 11th, I guess I'll talk to him then.
  3. I not only have CF but I work for them. I just got my approval Monday and my surgery was scheduled yesterday for 4/16. I checked our medical policy for you and it looks like you may be ok weight-wise as long as you meet all the other requirements too. For weight it says: Weight requirement: Maryland and D.C. plan members only: must meet eitherof the following criteria: - BMI of 40; or - BMI equal to or greater than 35, in combination with one or moreof the following co-morbid conditions: hypertension; a cardiopulmonary condition; sleep apnea; diabetes mellitus; or any life threatening or serious medical condition that is weight induced Hope this helps!
  4. Sorry if this has already been discussed but I did a search and couldn't find anything. Is anyone here a vegetarian? I am (hopefully) being banded next month and am nervous about the 1st few days. My doctor has a few "rules" about what you have to do before you leave the hospital and drinking chicken broth is on that list. I haven't told him that I don't eat meat so I'm scared we will battle it out in the hospital. I did buy some vegetable broth and have unflvored powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury to add to it for when I get home. Any suggestions? Also any high Protein post-surgical suggestions would be great. I do eat seafood and eggs, and I have already stocked up on protein Water and Unjury. Thanks! -Stacey
